Okay, lunch trucks hit Vegas. We get it. It's fun. It's cute. It's cheap. Most importantly, the food better be good, especially if we're waiting in this late summer sun. Better than good.
Han Shik Taco isn't a truck. It's more like a trailer, a little red pod of delicious perched in the parking lot of Lee's Liquor on Lake Mead near Tenaya Way. And it serves up better-than-good Korean-ish tacos, which is interesting because that's what the famous LA Kogi BBQ trucks cook up, and Kogi gets most of the credit for igniting this whole food-truck craze.
I don't know Kogi, and I don't need to. The Han Shik taco is a warm flour tortilla stuffed with tender grilled pork (or steak or tofu) and topped with kimchi and a fresh, sweet-and-sour Asian slaw. It's way too much flavor for something so cheap — $2.50 each — or something coming out of a little red pod sitting in a parking lot. It's way better than good.
