Northwest valley Rotary Club undergoes name change

It’s a name switch to suit the changing times. The Rotary Club of Las Vegas Northwest is now the Rotary Club of Las Vegas Summerlin.
The service organization is undergoing the name change because Las Vegas has expanded, and the club is no longer the furthest northwest of the 13 clubs in the valley.
“Changing names tend to be a pain… but we felt it was important,” said Judith Filangeri, a Rotary member. “We wanted to leave Las Vegas in the name so when we get visitors, they can search for us online.”
Despite the name change, the Summerlin Rotary club will continue to offer the same service opportunities it has since it was chartered in 1997, according to a press release. The club meets Tuesday mornings at the TPC Summerlin, located at 1700 Village Center Circle in Las Vegas.
