Roy Dale Taylor, 57, passed away Sept. 14.

A 40-year Henderson resident, he was born Feb. 25, 1952, in Spokane, Wash.

Roy was an HVAC engineer and worked at Titanium Metals for nearly 20 years. He also worked many years at Desert Springs Hospital and most recently St. Rose Dominican Hospital–de Lima Campus in Henderson.

Roy was an avid Jeep racer. He earned more than 100 trophies in hill climbs and sand drags over 25 years of racing.

He also enjoyed golf and had a hole-in-one to his credit, as well as deep sea fishing. He frequented Mazatlan, Mexico, where he landed a 286-pound blue marlin.

He was active in the Eagles fraternal club, raising funds for the various charities the group supports. He was a two-time past president and life member of the Henderson Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie No. 2672.

The family requests memorial donations go to the Fraternal Order of Eagles' "Home Fund."

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy; children Karianne Siegle (Ricky) and Brian Taylor (Rachel) along with grandchildren Ashlee, Aaron, and Adrian Siegle and Rylee Taylor; his mother, Margaret "Vi" Young (Jack) and brothers Wayne, Jerry (Betty) and Roger (Connie.

A celebration of Roy's life will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Henderson Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall, 310 W. Pacific Ave., Henderson, 565-2672.

Sunrise Cremation and Burial Society handled the arrangements.
