Jack Finn resigned as special projects manager at NV Energy last week.

The Sept. 21 resignation follows a series of Las Vegas Sun articles about Finn's girlfriend, KTNV-TV, Channel 13 anchor Nina Radetich.

The longtime local TV anchor was recorded telling the subject of an undercover TV expose conducted by Channel 13 that her boyfriend, Finn, could help mitigate negative perceptions that the reports coming from her station would create.

Finn denied that his resignation had anything to do with the Sun's stories on Radetich, saying that he left the company to "pursue other opportunities."

When asked what those opportunities might be, Finn said he was "still looking around to see what might be out there."

NV Energy officials confirmed Finn's resignation, but declined to give additional details.

Prior to working at NV Energy, Finn was a spokesman for Sen. John Ensign and former Gov. Kenny Guinn.

In the taped recording between Radetich and Tire Works owner Roshie Weightman -- whose company was being investigated for fraudulent practices and the subject of several KTNV stories - Radetich spoke of Finn's fondness for media relations consulting, saying specifically: "He sort of does this stuff on the side. But he is more than willing to talk to you and this is, like, his favorite thing to do. I’m not kidding. If he could do this full time — consult and tell people how to handle the media — he would."
