Sen. John Ensign has been active

Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 | 2 a.m.

Sen. John Ensign has been active during health care hearings this week, burying himself in work and hoping the worst is behind him. He has been all over CSPAN and has had any number of amendments shot down — although most have provided fodder for news releases so he can reestablish his ideological bona fides. The senator continues to stonewall on questions about his payments to Doug and Cynthia Hampton and he has even shut off yours truly from access to basic information, such as the call-in number for a tele-town-hall meeting. Folks, no other staffers for any elected official have behaved so unprofessionally in my experience. My guess is Ensign’s aides must think they work for him, not the public.
