Ruth Busch Schafer, 82, died Aug. 16 at home.
Born in New Jersey, she was the first employee of AllState Legal, a Newark, N.J.-based company.
Fifty years ago, she moved to Las Vegas, where she became a card room manager, a position she held in several casinos.
After her retirement from gaming, she returned to AllState Legal as a part-time telemarketer.
She is survived by nieces and nephews Joyce Busch, Jackie Hemphill, Rob Busch and David Busch; great-nieces Melissa Caputa and husband Steve and Heather Hemphill; great-nephew Peter Retzlaff and wife Joanna; great-great-nephews Cameron and Max; and her dog Tawny
The family requests memorial contributions go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
