Three former professional football players and a veteran play-by-play man will make up the United Football League’s inaugural broadcast team.
The UFL announced Tuesday that Doug Flutie, Kordell Stewart, Anita Marks and Dave Sims would handle the announcing duties for the nine games scheduled to be shown on Versus.
Stewart and Flutie are former NFL quarterbacks and Marks played quarterback for five years for the Miami Fury and Florida Stingrays, professional women’s teams.
Sims is best known for his work on ESPN college basketball telecasts and being the voice of Westwood One’s NFL Sunday Night Football.
The first televised game will be the Las Vegas Locomotives and the California Redwoods on Oct. 8 from Sam Boyd Stadium.
