LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Carter not afraid to tell it like it is

Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009 | 2:01 a.m.

Hurrah for former President Jimmy Carter. He is one of the very few white people in America who will call out racism when he sees it. All over television, the news has shown “tea parties” with people holding posters of President Barack Obama dressed as a witch doctor or depicting something else derogatory toward those who are black, and all the while some of our representatives cower in their offices in Washington saying nothing to defend the president.

Those whites over age 50 who are still clinging to the Confederate flags of the Old South need to wake up and smell the coffee. The Old South is “gone with the wind” and will never return again.

Discussion: 76 comments so far…

  1. Carter almost destroyed the economy of this country while he was president. Since leaving office he has made a laughing stock out of himself time and time again. He is now just a senile old fool. He should go back to his peanut farm, keep his mouth shut and try to retain what little dignity he has left.

  2. I believe that the Democratic Party should make Carter the offical spokesperson of their party.

    Go for it!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Michael Parker, Jimmy Carter, and the LV Sun need to stop race baiting.

Yesterday Obama told us that Jimmy Carter was lying. It is a normal on topic debate.

"There's been a long-standing debate in this country that is usually that much more fierce during times of transition, or when presidents are trying to bring about big changes," Obama told CNN.

To NBC News, Obama put it this way: "It's an argument that's gone on for the history of this republic, and that is, What's the right role of government? How do we balance freedom with our need to look out for one another? ... This is not a new argument, and it always evokes passions."

The LV Sun chose to place two of the same race biating letters in the paper today.

    Why?

The LV Sun should read it own front page

Obama said it is not about race

  4. One side has it's Glen Beck, its Rush Limbaugh, its Sean Hannity and its Marc "the great one" Levin. The other has Jimmy Carter. Embarrassments all. Sometimes one really has to wonder about the First Amendment.

  5. "One side has it's Glen Beck, its Rush Limbaugh,...

The other has Race baiter Jimmy Carter."

Conservatives know that Liberals run the Democratic Party as lead by:

    - Slur-laden hate trader and Democrat celebrity blogger Perez Hilton

-Hollywood starlet spokesperson "tea parties are "about Rednecks "hating a black man"" Janeane Garofalo

    - Hollywood star spokesperson Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias fascist supporter Sean Penn,

    - frauduant voter registrar ACORN and SEIU founder Wade Rathke,

    - Check-card intimidator SEIU President Andy Stern,

    - Out of Wedlock dead beat geezer, sexually perverted kiddy porn "I don't think it's funny" clown Dave Lettermen

    - Mega Billionaire Hedge Fund manager, and pro-creator of TARP George Soros,

    - MoveOn .Org founder and anti-American open borders Wes Boyd

    - CNN blogger Jack Cafferty

    - Tingling newscasters Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann,

-Matthew's and Olbermann's boss and Cap-in-Trade benefactor Jeffery Immelt

-Releaser of Classified National intelligence information NY Times Editor Bill Keller

    - Inept Comedian and giddy celebrator of tormentors ""she shows herself to be very, very shallow -- you know, as they say, stunningly superficial.." Joy Behar, and

    - Cut-and-Paste Stenographer Commentator Maureen Dowd, http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/05/opinio...

    - Democratic deepthroat source Levi Johnson

  6. Mr Parker,
I'm assuiming you're black from your comment. Perhaps you could explain to me(I'm white) why this is derogatory to blacks?...
"All over television, the news has shown "tea parties" with people holding posters of President Barack Obama dressed as a witch doctor or depicting something else derogatory toward those who are black"
...it is a matter of historical fact that there are indeed black witch doctors. So why is that derogatory to blacks? The point of the comparison has nothing to do with race in the first place; "witch doctor medicine" is equated with hocus-pocus, flim-flam, snake oil type of medicine, not the scientific brand of medicine that rational people, yes even those rational black people, want for this country. The health reform bills being promoted by BHO are not going to improve the health care system, and that is what we object to, not the color of BHO's skin.

ps. perhaps while you're at it, maybe you could explain why blacks have such an irrational aversion towards the Confederate Flag? The Stars and Bars does NOT stand for slavery!!!! Slavery has been over for 150 years in this country...get over it!!!! The Stars and Bars, like Old Glory herself, does indeed stand for the honored dead who gave their last full measure of devotion in the Civil War though. Yes, the Old South is gone and will never return(and we don't want it to either), but the brave men who fought and gave their lives for her will always be in our hearts, and minds, and prayers and the Confederate Flag will always serve as a reminder for them.

  7. I must have missed the LV SUN ad the other day soliciting those who want to "race bait" to send their letters into the SUN.

Maybe there was a contest... "...and the three dumbest race baiters would get their letters printed in the Saturday Edition of the SUN.

  8. The Republican's have used code words to cover their implicit racism since Nixon.

I posted here two months ago (but the cowards deleted it) that people calling Obama a Socialist were using it as a code word for the "N word".

Don't blame Carter for calling out you racist pieces of ---- for what you are.

    RACISTS! Pure unadulterated RACIST SCUM!

    Tea bagging, worthless RACIST scum!

Cashing your 'socialist' security checks and using your socialist medicare to buy the scooters to drive your fat rear ends to the all white racist tea bagger parties.

The crowd of nut jobs at the 9/12 march was remarkably pale in skin tone. Why are all the crazies at the town halls old racist white people?

The only more pathetic than the racism is your pathetic denials. At least admit it. You lying racist liar scum!

  9. Come on Angry, don't hold back on us this morning. It's Saturday, so let it all hang out...

It looks like there just might be a little bit of racism in most of us... Huh Angry...

Can I get a scooter with a fat rear tire?

Hey Angry, drink another cup of coffee. I think you need a little more caffeine..

    Bless you my son...

  10. you can say whatever you want about jimmy carter...
but one thing simply can not be questioned...
jimmy carter is an honorable man...
    jimmy carter speaks the truth...
    period...
    end of stroy...
and our stupid pathetic lying republican friends know it...
that's why they are crying so loudly!!!

  11. Headline- "Carter not afraid to tell it like it is"

No, Carter has no clue what "like it is" is. I don't know if he knows what the definition of is is...

    Obama looks at a teleprompter.
    Carter looks at a mirror.
Clinton looks at a... No, not going there.

  12. Jimmy Carter is a total and complete fool. He is too supid to have honor. May he soon rest in peace and be totally forgotten lest he be remembered as the worst America has to offer.

  13. The make-up seen on Obamas face was put there to represent the Joker of Batman. This was created by Alex Jones from the Infowars web site.
Can you believe how some people really blow things out of proportion? Witch doctor? Racist? Yeah, The Joker was a true racist.

  14. Angry reader, have you ever tried Angry reader management classes. I've found it's better to go through life in a mellow state.

  15. I guess at his age you can get away with saying anything! Where's brother Billy when you need him, He made more sense.

  16. Anyone remember Billy Beer? It was horrible, just like his wimpy brother's presidency.

Carter and Obama have one important item in common: One Term!

  17. Damn... And I voted for the man.
Can't remember why but only did it once.
I even drove to Plains, Georgia, once.
    Went thru the Carter Museum.
Nothing in there but pictures of Jimmy.
Stopped by Billy's gas station but Billy was dead.
Drove by Jimmy's house on the outskirts of Plains.
Can't miss it because of the two little statues of Black men standing out front. Ready to tie up your horses if you ride one.

Billy was great peeing on the tarmac. He will be missed...

  18. Michael Parker sounds like a bigot to me

  19. You foolish conservitives on this post are
pathetic. Jimmy Carter won the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE.

    Name one Republican who did.

  20. hamster: do you even know who Nobel was and how many deaths he's responsible for?

LarryV: sort of reminds me of Pulp Fiction: "Billy's dead, baby. Billy's dead."

  21. How did Jimmy win the prize? In a box of Cracker Jacks???

These other guys also won the Noble prize:

    KOFI ANNAN
    YASSER ARAFAT
    LE DUC THO
    THOMAS WOODROW WILSON

If you're going to "cherry pick" at least put a few more cherries in your basket.....Other's who were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize:

    Albert Schweitzer
    Nelson Mandela
    Elie Wiesel
    Desmond Tutu
    Jane Addams
    Teddy Roosevelt
    Henry Kessinger
    Mother Tresa
    Lech Walesa
    Martin Luther King Jr.
    George C. Marshall

  23. I give up... I don't know...

Did Jimmy Carter win the Nobel Peace Prize for his support of the Shah?

Maybe Jimmy won the Peace Prize, by not doing anything about our hostages that were being held in Iran.

I remember now. Carter got the prize for turning Iran into a peaceful country after the fall of the Shah.

No? Come on and give a guy a break. How about giving the Panama Canal away?

No? How about giving the Presidential Yacht away?

OK, I give up. I don't have a clue why anyone would nominate Jimmy for the prize, more less give him the award...

  24. spock said.....

I guess at his (Jimmy Carter) age you can get away with saying anything!"

Hmmmmm.....so in other words there still hope for the mentally challenged man from Texas. You remember him don't you?

He's the guy who lied and took us to a war that costs us 4000 of our best young men and approximately a trillion dollars......what a giant that George was!!

  25. A trillion dsollars aint nothing... The current administration has spent more then that in just a few months and it hasn't done anything. And there's much more to come...

  26. LarryVegas......

Here, I'll help you out.....I hate to see you struggle with such an important question. Here's why Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.......enjoy!

"In October 2002 Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. According to the Nobel Prize Committee Chairman Gunnar Berge, "Carter has stood by the principles that conflicts must as far as possible be resolved through mediation and international cooperation based on international law."

Jimmy Carter was awarded the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of his "untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights, and to promote economic and social development.

His dedication to peace and the compassionate work of Jimmy Carter is a continuing inspiration to all people. Carter is a leader with ideals and the perseverance to work energetically toward those ideals, to make the world a better place, to bring fairness, equality, and decency, basic human rights, to all people. Jimmy Carter is a peace hero for the world."

Does that answer your question? It should! If not, google:

Jimmy Carter 2002 Nobel Peace Prize winner former US president

p.s.........you don't have to thank me for the above information. I'm always happy to help a lost fellow traveler wondering aimlessly down the road of truth....

  27. LarryVegas said....

    "A trillion dsollars aint nothing..."

Hmmmmm.....Sure could have fooled me...I guess Texas George knew what he was doing after all.......

Thanks George! We really needed that war in Iraq. I'm just disappointed that we didn't attack Iran as you had planned......

  28. Sorry to question you lobo, but I still don't understand what Carter did to win the prize.

    Carter had an untiring effort:
to find peaceful solutions...But he found none...
to advance democracy... No advancing here...
to advance human rights...That did a lot of good.
    to promote economic development... Where?
to promote social development... Here or there?

I agree Carter has a dedication to peace...
    I agree Carter is compassionate...
I do not agree that Carter is a continuing inspiration to all people... All people? Me?

I am not sure that the world is a better place...
I am not sure if he brought fairness etc...

    So in summing it up:

Jimmy Carter is a peace hero for the world.

So that's it... He is a peace hero...

Thank you Jimmy Carter for bringing peace to the world.

Hey Jimmy, I think you forgot to bring peace to Iran...

  29. Don't be disappointed Lobo. It appears that Obama is going to get his chance at Iran, like it or not.
4000 may be a very small figure after Ahmadinejad gets finished with Obama. Obama's only salvation is Israel, if he hasn't crapped on them too much...

What a silly and nonsensical post....The Confederate flag, in the minds of many people, including blacks, stands as a symbol of slavery. One of the main reasons for fighting the Civil War was the question of slavery. The "Stars & Bars" was the Confederate flag of war. One can not separate the flag from the war, or slavery from the war, or the flag from slavery.

You may personally looked at the Confederate flag and see something other than racism, slavery and the inhumane treatment that was dealt out to some 3 1/2 million black people, but the ancestors of those black people don't see it the way you do....

The Confederate dead can be honored and recognized without waving the Confederate flag. The war ended almost 150 years ago & it's time to move forward and put aside certain things that were part of a failed rebellion...

In other words, get over it and move on....

  31. The president of peace, How nice is that. Lobo I don't know how you roll but in my world I stick to the REAGAN philosophy. "It's nice to be liked but better to be respected"! Peace should never come off as weakness when dealing with hostile nations, As he did and does now.

  32. I can see both sides of the Confederate flag issue. Since I do not have a dog in that race, I am not going to get involved. Let those who live in the States effected. The citizens of those states can have a referendum vote to determine if it stays or goes...

Mississippi has the only state flag that incorporates an image of the Confederate Battle flag.

I am not sure if it was on a trip to Anderson ville or another civil war cemetery that I visited, but I think that there was a confederate flag flying over the Confederate graves. I could be wrong, but I sure one of you smart guys will confirm this.

  33. Black people carry around a ton of baggage and I do not blame them one bit.

If my great-great grandfather was a slave then I would be mad.

If my great grandfather was given second class citizenship then I would be mad.

If my grandfather was discriminate against then I would be mad.

So, many black people carry around that baggage all the time. It is like a great weight that holds them down and all they see is racism.

If their school teacher gives them a D then it is racism.

If their coach yells at them for missing a block then it is racism.

If their employeer dings them for being late or not doing their job then it is racism.

If a cop gives them a ticket for speeding then it is racism.

And of course they extend that baggage into politics. If somebody disagrees with Obama then it is racism.

Black people that come from foreign countries and move here then they don't carry that baggage and many of them are more successful because of it.

I do not believe that this will change anytime soon.

It will be probably generations before that baggage melts away.

  34. SgtRock-you are full of it. My parents were sharecroppers in Tennessee. Sharecroppers were about the equivalent of slaves. They overcame this by working their butts off and with frugality and hard work, got well into the middle class. They did this without any kind of government program or any assistnce of any kind. They instilled in me the virtue of work. Anyone can escape from poverty if they decide to do it and do not rely on some government idiot who wants to keep them in poverty to keep his/her worthless job.

  35. I've been to Andersonville twice and I don't remember seeing a Confederate flag flying over any of the graves. Of course, Andersonville (Camp Sumter) was a Confederate POW camp that held Union prisoners.. It was the worst POW camp in the entire war. Approximately 75% of the Union soldiers held there died in captivity.

The only thing close to Andersonville in terms of brutality was the Union POW camp in Chicago, Camp Douglas. Approximately 40% of the Confederate POW's interned at Camp Douglas died there...

No one know for sure how many POW's were housed at either camp and death /burial certificates were not always kept so its any one's guess how many men perished in the two camps.

The commander of the Andersonville POW camp, Henry Wirz, was found guilty of war crimes and hanged after the war. He was the only Confederate soldier or politician brought to trial for war crimes and convicted of such....

The charges brought against Wirz was murder and conspiracy. Some historians maintain that his trial was a farce, and his death was a token execution aimed at pleasing Northern politicians and the Northern press....

  36. Carter is a douche bag and your a douche bag. Period.

  37. El Lobo: Great post on Carter.

Jimmy Carter's strength and greatness will never be understood by Republicans. Their
comments on this post demonstrate that. Their
    ignorance is astounding.

  38. if you didn't vote for Obama they called you a racist...now if you disagree with his policys..you are a racist

I guess since you liked the approach of Reagan in dealing with what might be called "hostile nations," then you must have also been a huge supporter of the foreign policy approach of George W. Bush. Right? Can I say that you were a big fan of "cowboy diplomacy?"

Of course, like most things with Reagan, his foreign policy exploits carry a number of myths......It wasn't all it cracked up to be..

Yes, he was a big time "containment guy" but he didn't always do what he said he was going to do... The American public loved his "saber rattling," however, as many did when Texas George came in and started doing the same thing...

Reagan came into office full of "spit & vinegar" and made several hard line statements
about Communism and terrorism, but the truth is, he was often more "bark than bite"....

For example, the "cut & run" strategy ordered by Reagan after the 1983 truck bombing (terrorist attack) of the Marine barracks in Beirut. Lebanaon clearly points that out. 241 Marines were killed in the bombing and Reagan's answer to what had happened was to leave Lebanon as quickly as possible..

He also said that he would NEVER negotiate with terrorists, but it was later revealed that with his permission, high officials in the Reagan administration had entered into a "guns for hostage" agreement with Iran.

The whole thing is called the Iran-Contra affair. Surely you remember it... The Reagan administration agreed to facilitate the sale of arms to Iran in order to secure the release of American hostages held by Iran.

Funding the Nicaraguan contra's was also part of the deal. It was big time scandal in this country but "Dutch" Reagan was never connected directly to the whole mess.....I always found that strange didn't you?

Of course, the announcement of the release of the hostages was put on hold until the very day "Dutch" took the oath of office as president.

  40. Instead of defending Carter, attack Reagan.

This my friend is the way of Party Loyalists...

  41. LarryVegas said....

"Instead of defending Carter, attack Reagan.

Actually, I did defend Carter. I typed a huge post explaining why Jimmy was chosen for the Nobel Peace Prize. Where were you when that came down?

Oop's, I forget. You didn't understand my post.
    You said:

"Sorry to question you lobo, but I still don't understand what Carter did to win the prize."

Are you married? Is your wife named Laura? Is she a former school teacher? Does she read to you each evening and have you read back to her so she can help you with the big words? You kinow the ones I'm talking about? Dick, Jane, Spot, etc....

That's what George does and he has really improved his reading & comprehension skills..

Why he finished reading his favorite book, "My Pet Goat" by the end of his first term....

    Hint? Hint?

  42. Oh, Wolfy, I do understand, like I responded to you yesterday:

Jimmy Carter got the Noble Award for being the peace hero for the world.

So that's it... He is the peace hero...

Thank you Jimmy Carter for bringing peace to the world.

Hey Jimmy, I think you forgot to bring peace to Iran...

By the way, the Wolf drops a loaf, when he brings Bush to his post...

  43. LarryVegas.....

Miracles do happen. You're a perfect example of that...Your statement saying "I do understand" is wonderful news....

Maybe Laura has also been working with you...she's an amazing lady. I say that in all honesty. Her putting up with her mentally challenged husband all those years, and being part of the "Bush clan" is no easy task.

You bringing the name Jimmy Carter to your posts, and me reminding all of us how lucky we are to have had an enema and gotten rid of George is what I call fair play........you do believe in fair play, don't you?

    Oop's I forget, your a right-winger. They aren't into fair play.....

  44. LarryVegas said...

"Jimmy Carter got the Noble Award for being the peace hero for the world.

So that's it... He is the peace hero...

Thank you Jimmy Carter for bringing peace to the world."

Those are wonderful words coming from you. I guess there's still hope for you despite your constant ranting against Jimmy....

I have always believed that a Leopard can't change its spots, but when it comes to you, I might be mistaken......Wow!

  45. But a wolf does not have any spots, so we can figure you out no matter how hard you try.

If you can't bash Bush, you then lose you way, and need someone like me, to put you back on path.

By the way, you say how I bring Carter's name to my posts, but if you take time to observe, this is the topic of these posts...

  46. LarryVegas......

Yes, Jimmy Carter is the main topic on this thread, but as always, there ends up being several other topics interweaved as well.....maybe you didn't notice that?

I don't have to "bash Bush." I just tell the truth about George and all of your right-wingers think it's bashing.

Yep, as slow as you appear to be on the up take, you can easily see where I'm coming from...
    That's my plan....

When it comes to me, what you see is what you get!

  47. Hey Wolfy,

You should not have said that "When it comes to me, what you see is what you get!"
....What I see is the same thing that gets piled up in the bottom of the "Birds" cage... I'm sorry Wolfy, but that one was just too easy and couldn't be avoided...

I just happen to think, when you guys left of reality have intimate relations, do you still think about George Bush? Bet you do!!!

  48. LarryVegas.....

When did you last have a vist to your eye doctor? I think you've waited way too long.

I'm reminded of George W. Bush when I see the mess that he left this country in....

I'm reminded of George W. Bush when I see the latest unemployment figures.

I'm reminded of George W. Bush when I hear that another American soldier has died in the Middle East.

I'm reminded of George W. Bush when I read about the number of Americans with no health care coverage.

I'm reminded of George W. Bush when I hear someone refer to the terrorist attack (9/11) that took place on his watch.

George has been out of office approximately 8 months and I can't wait until it reaches 80 - 100 months. Just maybe at that point in time his name will be submerged deeply in our history and pretty much forgotten in time....

    We can only hope.....

  49. Wolfy,

Are you reminded of George W. Bush when your significant other whispers sweet nothings in your ear? I bet you do... Come on, you can tell me...

  50. LarryVegas.....

See my last post! Nothing else needs to be said.....Maybe it's you who has this THING about George. After all, you voted for him not once but twice....RIGHT?

  51. Ah.... let me think...

Gorey - Bush... Gotta go with Bush
Kerry - Bush... Gotta go again with Bush.

Who else would you like me to tell you about?

  52. LarryVegas said....

    "Ah.... let me think...

Gorey - Bush... Gotta go with Bush
Kerry - Bush... Gotta go again with Bush.

Who else would you like me to tell you about?"

What's new? That exactly what I said earlier. I also pointed out who your selection was in the Nevada governor's race.....yet you continue to say that your an independent.....Right! That's funny!

Oop's.....look out for those low flying pigs....

  53. Has anyone spoken to Glen Beck?

  54. Wofey... I got to get you some help, my lopped eared egg sucking hound type wolf. I hear that you are seeing flying pigs again.

Talk about flying pigs... Now you got to admit that Gore and Kerry did not exactly set the world on fire.

And whoever ran against Gibbons also was not a ball of fire. Do you remember who that was? I don't.

Put some good candidates out there and if they are the best, I will be sure to vote for them.

Ah, now about those flying pigs you been seeing...

  55. Glen Beck... Is he here?

I thought he was over at the ACORN office with a couple of reporters from the LV SUN...

You haven't heard? Well, you better watch FOX NEWS.

  56. LarryVegas...

What's new? You're doing what you do best.....just talking to be talking. The fact that you voted for the mentally challenged man from Texas not once, but twice says it all.

You continue to try to down play the fact that you voted for our current block head governor, "womanizer Gibbons", by saying you can't remember who ran against him. Does Dina Titus ring a bell?

That's unbelievable, but when it all said and done, it's simply more of the same type of smoke screen that right-wingers hide behind....denial.... denial...denial!

The funniest part of your whole rant is that you claim to be an "independent." You've got your nose stuck so far up that certain part of the right-winger's anatomy that you haven't seen day light in several years...

Be a man and accept your fate....you're a right-winger. Your group is currently out of power, and if your group can't find viable leadership down the road, then accept the fact that you're going to stay in a secondary role politically for a long, long time.

  57. Michael Parker, You have to be an African American based on the letter sent and if you're not then you are clearly a racist.

The issue with Carter is he is a racist just as most democrats are today. Most Americans believe we are equal and we don't care about the skin color or ethnic background. The democrats keep the race card alive and force feed their lunatic polices down our throats.

Remove all the freebies from the system and let everyone stand on their own two feet and create their own destiny. When this occurs America will become a much happier and better place. Until this time, democrats will keep the race card alive and well.

Fruit for thought too; stop blaming the past for the problems of today. Slavery doesn't exist today and hasn't existed for many years yet this still used today to justify the poor choices of the African American communities.

Try telling them that they are responsible for their own future and they create their own destiny instead of telling them that the white person is responsible for their families or their choices. The moral is that if you tell the lie long along they'll believe it themselves. This lie has been used for too many years.

  58. Where of where is the big bad wolf?

Oh, the Wolf has been here... I can tell by his droppings he left here and there... Most are to the left.

Your right, Dena Tutus was the one who ran against Gibbons. You owe me a thanks... because with me not voting for her, she became a U.S. Congressman. A much higher position. And I think that I voted for her for the Congress. After watching Dina for a while, I think she is trying to do a good job by representing her district. I am sorry I can't say the same about Harry...

Did you catch the ACORN special on FOX NEWS this morning?

I watched your news channel for a short time. (it's the one on the left of the dial)
They were airing a special on the President giving South Korea to North Korea. That way he can claim he fixed the Korean crisis. Only problem, was that he forgot to ask North Korea for anything in return.

Watch out for those flying pigs... They are out there today... The stink is in the air....

  59. LarryVegas.....

Some times I worry about you. Your latest rant is a rambling like I have never seen you do before....

Talk about jumping from one topic to another with out ever saying anything of substance...Wow!

Maybe your nickname should be "Rambling Rose.".....not sure about the rose part however....

More like a thorn in the side of civil discourse...

Yes, the low flying pigs are out in force today....oink, oink to you too!

  60. Wolfy,

I am practicing to be a politician. Promising nothing of value and saying nothing of substance.

My friends, I am here to take care of your needs and promise you that I will take care of the rest. So vote for me because I am better then the best. (will you vote for me know?)

Do you know the tune to "Rambling Rose?" I have the words down, but don't remember the tune.
How about humming me a few bars...

  61. I wasn't going to comment on the posts here but after reading what some of you idots write here I feel I must. Some whites would have you believe that there is no racism in this country. Blacks always perceive racism where none exist using it as a coverall to blame the whites for troubles within the black community.

    Thanks for reading.

Some blacks would have you believe that behind every white face is someone who by their very nature thinks they are superior and will always be conniving to keep the black man in his so called "place".

No one really talks honestly about race, especially here. You all give your perceptions on what each other feels and what the other thinks when in reality you know jack about the other. Its all perception. Most bigots won't sit down and talk honestly with the target of their bigotry because they don't want what they think they know as truth to be questioned or put to the test.

If you all truly understood how utterly sad that in this day and age, in THIS country we are still seperated by and struggling with an issue that is so beneath us ALL you would be truly ashamed as I am of what the rest of the world is seeing.

    Thanks for reading.

  62. Wise men everywhere seek the truth while wiseguys just want payola.

  63. I am just an idiot and did not bring up the race issue.

Who did bring up the race issue?

Who benefits most from bringing race up?

Is bringing race up an attempt to squash decent?

    By the way,

Who did all the name calling of the "Tea Party" people?

  64. You seem to have some answers for us Larry. Please provide them.

  65. Guess what? The Civil War is history. it's time to move on....The Confederate flag, in the minds of many people, both North and South, represents slavery and racism..

One can not study the Civil War with out knowing that the "Stars & Bars" was the battle flag of the Confederacy. One of the main issues that the war was fought over was the question of slavery.

Yes, states' rights and the tariff were also major issues, but by mid 1863 (after the Emancipation Proclamation was announced...) slavery had become the war's central issue.

In other words, the war was being fought to determine the future of the "peculiar institution."

One can not separate the Confederate flag from the war and one can not separate the war from slavery.....as a result, one can not separate the "Stars & Bars" from slavery.......they are intertwined.

The Old South continues to pay honor to its Civil War dead and they have every right to do so, but they can and should do that with out the Confederate flag being part of that celebration....They are Americans. Why not use just the Stars & Stripes?

It's time for decency to prevail... It's time to put certain parts of our history behind us...It's time to take the Confederate flag out of the mix....JMPO!

  66. If Carter was so great,Why did he lose 45 states as an incumbent? Lobo, I suppose the green cresent and star would be O.K. for you! Your posts come across like you just got out of history class at the local J.C.! Maybe you should have directed your PELL grant elsewhere.

What in the world are you talking about? I simply pointed out that Jimmy Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Of course, I wasn't the one who decided that but I do agree with his selection....

What I said about Jimmy was basically a cut & paste post....surely your smart enough to figure that out? Hmmmmm....maybe not!

As far as my history background.....you don't have a clue "little guy lost in space." I finished my second master's degree (it was in history) way back in the 1970's....probably about the time you were nothing more than a gleam in your daddy's eye...

I've forgotten more history that you can ever learn... Any time you feel confident, jump on the history bus with me & we'll take a spin. I promise I won't throw you under the bus... I'll go easy on you.....

  68. WOW! I was just called out by the wolf himself!Listen old grey hair, I respect you for having 2 master's, That's cool! I'm sure it was a walk in the cake back then. Could you really teach little ol' me the ways and means it takes to see B.S. when It!

  69. earth to spock.....earth to spock...come in little alien....

My offer still stands...Jump on board the history bus and we'll go for a spin. A warning or two, however, is needed.

When you get on board, grab your "aas" and hang on. Listen closely and read everything that is assigned to you. There won't be any grade inflation (which I know you're use to) and you will be expected to not only stay awake in class but study & pass all the tests assigned....Don't ask for extra credit because there's no such animal...

No cheating on tests or assignments and missing class and coming late will result in a failing grade....

There's no such thing as a make-up test and make sure you turn off your cell phone before climbing on board the bus...

Don't bring food or drink on the bus and leave your I-Pod & your DVD player at home. You will be allowed one "pisss" pass a semester so don't abuse it...

Speak only when spoken to and act attentively even when your not.... Using such out dated figures of spech as "Yes sir....No sir" will suffice.

A successful completion of all of the above will guarantee you at least a "D" in the class.

    GOOD LUCK!

  70. Lobo, That must have taken alot out of you! To call out the "D" student makes me so proud.

  71. Lobo ,Do you live in Oregon?

  72. spock.....

As I said.....come aboard the bus. The chance to learn a little history will be good for you.
Why should you care if you do your level best and still earn only a "D." It could well be the only 'legit' thing you have ever earned.....

  73. Beware of El Lobo, and beware of his bus. His bus may be old and it's a little bit short. But Wofey can drive it as fast as his Edsel.

You will notice, if you look closely, that lobo is a wolf in Democrat clothing. His teeth are pointed and shine like the stars, but like the stars, they come out at night.

We call him Wofey and he was weened in Bavaria.
And when he was younger he was quite a looker, but now with his makeup, he looks like a hooker.

But, if you are smart and I do hope that you are, stay away from the topic of history. Wofey
head is so full of history, his eye bug out as if he is looking at Nancy. Polosi that is...

  74. LarryVegas.....

Hmmmmm....I just noticed that there's an empty seat for you on the history bus. Why don't you climb aboard and take a spin. It will be a lot of fun. I know you're going to be very disappointed when I tell you that Little Red Riding Hood will not be aboard....

  75. You know Lobo, One can have all of the so called knowledge that two masters can bring and yet be none the better for it, Common sense dictates fact!
