Letter to the editor:
News anchor’s actions deplorable
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009 | 2:02 a.m.
As a relatively new resident of Las Vegas, the only thing I know about Nina Radetich is that a big deal was made when she joined the staff at Channel 13 some months ago. Apparently she is considered a ratings booster.
Based on the Las Vegas Sun story appearing Saturday, Ms. Radetich’s actions and Channel 13’s response to them raise questions about the veracity of any stories aired by the news department. This is disgraceful behavior. Claiming a lack of judgment diminishes the professionalism of all the people connected to the news operation and management, whether warranted or not.
At a time when the news media are under constant scrutiny and considered by many to be biased and corrupt as never before in my lifetime (I’m a former television news reporter), this adds to the cynicism and is a stain on the profession.
My knowledge of Ms. Radetich’s background and training is limited, but even a “cub” reporter should know what is ethical and what is not. Using her influence and position for personal gain is reprehensible.
Perhaps Ms. Radetich has witnessed so much corruption in this community she doesn’t have the judgment necessary to report the news.

if radetich is not fired...
who the hell would watch channel 13 ktnv ever again...
that is absolutely pathetic!!!
It was an attempted shake down for personal gain: Channel 13 needs to fire her so they can move on. She has lost all creditability with this community she really should pack up and leave Nevada for good.
I know a couple of journalists who refused to report on stories that soiled their friends, birdie still reads those papers.
If we are the 26th busiest market for News, then why do we have all these crazy & creepy yahoos??? It makes me miss Eric Randell and his Orange Finger Pointer.
Wonderful letter, Mr. Singer.
You could not have stated the issue any clearer.
The fact that Channel 13 fails to see the truth is troublesome.
Perhaps this represents a news gathering organization whose standards are far below that of the competitions.
If you are a corrupt and unethical journalist then certainly you have found a possible home at Channel 13.
We do have ethical anchors and reporters in Las Vegas. I will not name them because I in no way want to associate them with this incident or this disgusting ethical breech by Radetich.
If Radetich had an ounce of decency and self respect she would have resigned by now.
Bring back Nate on the job and Nate's Tarzan theater.
