Pedestrian killed
A 40-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Saturday night while crossing Boulder Highway by a vehicle that hit him and then left the scene, Metro Police said.
The man was crossing the road just south of Dalhart Street — from west to east and not in a marked crosswalk — when he was struck by a vehicle headed north on Boulder Highway, police said. The man, whose name was not released pending notficiation of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We have no further information on the vehicle that fled the scene,” a Metro news release said.
The incident occurred about 9:50 p.m., not far from Sahara Avenue, where Boulder Highway turns into Fremont Street.
It was the 60th highway fatality of the year in Metro’s jurisdiction.
Anyone with information regarding the incident, the whereabouts of the driver or vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro at 828-4341.

Too many scumbags driving on the streets with no insurance, driving drunk, driving without a valid license etc. Sad.
I'm sorry for his family. Hope the driver is caught and faces prosecution.
