FLASHPOINT:
Classy as always, Mayor Goodman
Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 | 2:01 a.m.
I chuckled reading Sam Skolnik’s story about a potentially competing Strip mob museum to Mayor Oscar Goodman’s downtown memorial to his former clients. Goodman had this to say: “Ours is professional. This isn’t going to be a patched-up, fly-by-night organization. This is first-class. We have the best people in the world who are helping us plan it.” Classy. Goodman, by the way, consistently has maintained that the museum will not be, as he put it on KNPR this week, a “shrine to Oscar.” And yet, in the same interview, he talked about several of his possessions to be featured in the museum, and again mentioned how former G-Woman Ellen Knowlton was brought in for credibility. Can’t wait to see it — or both of them.
