A 20-year-old man was critically injured Thursday night when he and another motorcyclist lost control of their bikes and crashed on Flamingo Road, Metro Police said.
Thomas Lovelady of Las Vegas was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.
The other rider, Zachary Crosta, 19, of Las Vegas suffered only minor injuries, police said. He was treated and released.
Police said evidence indicates both men were riding south on Flamingo, north of the intersection with Granite Ridge Drive, about 10:20 p.m. when Lovelady lost control of his 2005 Honda CBR 600 RR and fell on his right side.
Crosta then lost control of his bike, a 2006 Suzuki GSX 600, and crashed, police said. The motorcycles hit the center median, continued to skid south and ended up on a roundabout island, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.

unless you know these "kids" I don't think you should be passing judgment. And I see idiots in cars & trucks endangering the public with excessive speed and general ignorance every day. Those in glass houses..
It's not if but when you will get hurt riding a motorcycle.
alright well i happened to know these two boys and it wasn't like they were spending they were on a round about and it was just an accident so you should watch what you say first alright.....plus you wouldn't be saying that if it was your son or brother or friend. think about what tom's family is going through right now
I personally know Tom. He is an experienced rider... Thank god he is now recovering slowly but surely. My sister is Tom's girlfriend. Tom is like a brother to me he would never endanger anyone else on the street. The fact is that not everyone who rides street bikes are kids, and second of all if the people that were riding the street bikes were dumb wouldn't they not even know how to turn the bike on, or even balance the bike upright to ride? The people on streetbikes also have to go to special licensing courses and pass to even obtain a streetbike/motorcycle license. It is sad that people don't take into consideration what his friends and family are going through wondering how long it will take him to recover and how much pain he is in. My prayers go out to Tom for fast healing. My prayers also go out to his family.
