FLASHPOINT:
An insult to Titus
Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 | 2 a.m.
“Titus can defeat Reid.” That’s the headline on a letter to the editor in the Gardnerville Record-Courier. No, not Dina Titus! Robin Titus, of course. Who? She’s the doctor running against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and a supporter wrote in to protest people giving her short shrift. Among the gems: “Five people tell five other people about Dr. Robin and before long everyone in Nevada will have heard the name Dr. Robin.” How quaint, the rurals. And this: “The chairperson of the Nevada GOP does not give credence to Dr. Robin. When the chairperson was on the radio, she mentioned a few people ... thinking of running, including herself. She did not mention Dr. Robin Titus.” Oh, the outrage!
