A North Las Vegas woman is in custody today after she threatened to burn her husband and set his apartment on fire, North Las Vegas Police said.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at about 12:45 p.m. reporting a violent domestic disturbance at 3300 Civic Center Drive near Cheyenne Avenue, said Officer Chrissie Coon, a spokeswoman for North Las Vegas Police.

After forcing herself into her husband's apartment, 38-year-old Sabrina Reynolds, armed with an accelerant and matches, threatened to burn down the apartment and set her husband on fire, police said. The man was able to get out of the apartment and get help.

Police officers arrived and evacuated four buildings in the apartment complex.

In addition, two local schools were placed on lockdown: Lois Craig Elementary School and Lincoln Elementary School.

After more than two hours, SWAT officers forced their way into the apartment and found Reynolds had set it on fire, Coon said.

Officers took her into custody without incident and booked her into the North Las Vegas Detention Center on one count of attempted murder and one count of first-degree arson.

North Las Vegas firefighters were on standby at the scene of the standoff and were able to extinguish the fire quickly, Coon said. No one suffered injuries during the incident, police said.
