Hugh M. Vankinscott, 80, died Sept. 5 at a local hospital.

A Henderson resident for seven years, he was born Nov. 20, 1928, in New York City. He was a retired employee of the U.S. Department of Labor and an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon, of Henderson; children Deborah Vankinscott of Chicago, Hugh Vakinscott Jr. and wife MIchelle of Atlanta and Kimberly Bright and husband Virgil of Chicago; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 12 and 10 to 11 a.m. .Sept. 14 at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 14 at Palm Mortuary, with interment at 1:20 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Palm Mortuary handled the arrangements.
