Approximate area of shooting

Metro Police are investigating a fatal shooting in northwest Las Vegas, a police spokesman said.

A woman died from her injuries after being shot Monday afternoon at a home on Brookfield Cove Avenue, which is near the intersection of Grand Teton Drive and Cimarron Road, east of U.S. 95. A man at the home was taken to University Medical with critical injuries, police said. Investigators said the shooting was a case of domestic violence.

Homicide detectives were expected to execute a search warrant on the Brookfield Cove home this evening.

On Saturday, a woman was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide in North Las Vegas after police responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in the 4900 block of Rancho Domingo Court. Inside the home, police found a 38-year-old North Las Vegas woman who had died of multiple gunshot wounds, police said. A 46-year-old man from Cibolo, Texas, was taken to the hospital in critical condition with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.

The women's identities will be released by the Clark County Coroner's Office pending notification of family.
