flashpoint:
Sen. John Ensign can be objective
Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 | 2 a.m.
To his credit, Sen. John Ensign told the RenoGazette-Journal’s Anjeanette Damon that it would be “hypocritical” for him to lambaste President Barack Obama for a scheduled speech to school kids next week because he speaks in classrooms all the time. Ensign refused to buy into the loony frenzy over the speech, yet another manufactured issue. But he also said, “I think it’s important to inspire people. You don’t want to, especially the younger ones, you don’t want to indoctrinate them.” Well, he got that in. And: “I just think there’s a lot of people upset ... it’s just kind of spilling over. He’s becoming very polarizing and you see things like that when a person becomes polarizing.” Indeed you do, Senator.

Ensign said the truth in "...you don't want to indoctrinate them." "I just think there's a lot of people upset ... it's just kind of spilling over. He's [Obama is]becoming very polarizing and you see things like that when a person becomes polarizing."
Thank Jon for realizing the facts about Obama - keep us informed
Ensign is trying to have it both ways. On the one hand he refuses to "buy into the looney frenzy," but on the other hand he can't stay away from mentioning "indoctrination," to help keep the looney frenzy going.
I wouldn't be surprised if whipping up all this hysteria over the President addressing the nation's school children is part of the GOP's strategy to bring down Obama for their own gain. When Regan spoke to the exact same audience he talked about the importance of lowering taxes, which is clearly a policy issue, and no one seemed to have a problem with that. When Obama wants to encourage our youth to work hard in school and think about ways to make our country a better place for all our citizens, it's called 'indoctrination.'
To the hysterical parents screeching that they're going to keep their kids home from school I say: "Go for it!"
Keep your kids home from school until the end of the Obama Administration. That way we can rest easy knowing the next generation will have no shortage of unskilled labor.
