More on the 2009-10 schedule
Five UNLV men's hoops contests for the upcoming season were finalized on Tuesday, as the Mountain West Conference set its 2009-10 schedule in stone.
The Rebels' home contests against San Diego State will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m., while a date with New Mexico at the Thomas & Mack Center will tip at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Also, the Saturday, Jan. 16, home contest against Utah will start at 7 p.m., a road game at TCU will be held a week later on Jan. 23 at 5 p.m. local time and the home game with Colorado State will be played on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 3 p.m.
The Rebels' non-conference schedule will include games against Louisville, Kansas State and Arizona, plus a trip over Christmas to Honolulu for the Diamond Head Classic.
UNLV is coming off of a somewhat disappointing 21-11 campaign, during which Lon Kruger's club slipped late and finished 9-7 in the MWC before exiting the NIT in the opening round with a loss at Kentucky.

My outlook page has been updated. I am looking foward to the season.
Just sitting here thinking, as disappointing as last season was, it's nice to know that a 21-11 season is now disappointing. A couple of years ago, we would have loved a 21-11 season.
@ the other poster, not me
Well said. I would have died for a 20 win just 6 years ago. Now, we hang our collective head in shame. Good job looking for the silver lining after a "bad" season. Other silver lining: Stanbeck and Jasper no longer have to sit, we finally get to see Marshall, Lopez and Hawkins play in the gray and scarlett, and we are only 2.5 months from tipoff.
Reagan, I agree with your other silver lining. I remember seeing Stanbeck in last year's opening practice and thinking this guy in two years is POY material. Hearing that Jasper has looked great, and I really believe that Matt Shaw is going to have a good season. 2.5 months from tipoff, heck, I'm ready for that first practice!
Coach Kruger was on Twitter saying that he's very impressed with the desire to win being shown by the players in their individual workouts
Agreed, vizbowl.
