AAA offering free tows home for Halloween partygoers

For a free tow
- For a complimentary tow home of up to five miles, call AAA at 800-222-4357 and say, "I need a Tipsy Tow."
Halloween partygoers who want to drink without worrying about driving have a easy, and free, option Saturday — get towed home by AAA.
The auto club is offering to give anyone, they don't have to be a AAA member, a free tow home to try to keep drunk drivers off the road.
The association said drivers, passengers, party hosts, bartenders and restaurant managers can call 800-222-4357 and tell the AAA operator, "I need a Tipsy Tow."
There is a catch: the free tow is only good up to five miles and passengers will only be accommodated if there is room in the tow truck cab.
"Everybody wants to enjoy their costume parties this Halloween weekend," said Michael Geeser, spokesperson for AAA. "But if you've been drinking, don't be a joker and get behind the wheel. Instead, be a super hero and give AAA a call. We'll make sure you get home safely."
In Southern Nevada, seven law enforcement agencies plan increased patrols to look for those driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs this weekend.
When Halloween is on a weekend, as it is this year, the number of motor vehicle fatalities on the holiday rises 40 percent on average compared to when the holiday is on a weekday, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
