If you didn't like this week's cold weather, you'll won't have to wait long — a warm-up is on the way for Las Vegas, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will reach a high of 70 today and will be a little warmer each afternoon through through Sunday, when temperatures will be about five to eight degrees above normal, the weather service said.

Overnight, the weather service issued a freeze warning until 8 a.m. today for western Clark County and southern Nye County in Arizona. Temperatures in some locations, including Pahrump and Kingman, were expected to dip to 25 to 30 degrees, forecasters said.

Las Vegas' temperature was starting out at 46 degrees at 7 a.m. today at McCarran International Airport. It will climb to 52 degrees at 9 a.m., to 63 degrees at noon and reach a high of 70 degrees at 4 p.m., forecasters said.

That's four degrees below the normal high for today's date of 74 degrees. The the record high is 87, set in 1937. The record low is 26 degrees and the normal low is 50 for today's date.

Overnight, the temperature will drop to 51 degrees Saturday morning, then climb to a high of 76 degrees by 4 p.m. Saturday.

Sunday's morning low will be 53 degrees and Sunday's high will be near 80, forecasters said.
