A walker found decomposed human remains in a desert area this morning in the northeast Las Vegas Valley on Nellis Air Force Base property near Sunrise Mountain.
Air Force officials, Metro Police and the Clark County Coroner's Office have joined in an investigation, base officials said today.
Metro homicide detectives said they are not conducting murder investigation, although they are not sure how the person died.
Someone walking in the area found the decomposing body at about 8:30 a.m., police said.
Police investigators could not tell the gender of the body.
