Cashell-Goodman ticket? Get outta here

Shocking almost no one, Reno Mayor Bob Cashell finally declared this week that he is running for reelection, not for governor. A fundraiser scheduled for his mayoral bid was a dead giveaway, as reported in the Reno Gazette-Journal. My favorite line in the story was this: “For months Cashell toyed with the idea of running for governor. He said he had a poll that showed an independent ticket of Cashell, a Republican, and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, a Democrat, could be competitive.” Goodman agreed to play second fiddle to Cashell in that race, running for lieutenant governor to Cashell’s governor? No amount of gin would allow him to do such a thing. Maybe it was Cashell who had been tippling ...
