After jettisoning its fuel tanks, a Canadian CF-18 Hornet jet safely diverted to and landed at Nellis Air Force base northeast of Las Vegas early this afternoon, the Air Force reported today.

No one was injured by the falling tanks and the incident is under investigation, Nellis officials said.

The pilot jettisoned the plane's external fuel tanks about 12:15 p.m. and they landed on federal property 15 miles north of Nellis and a mile west of Interstate 15.

There were civilians about 600 yards away from where the fuel tank hit the ground, Nellis officials said.

There was no word as to what caused the problem, officials said.

  1. Sounds like an act of war...bomb Canada...they're not even a real country anyways!

  2. @redneck43. For the benefit of the doubt, I'll assume you were drinking some cheap alcohol, resulting in your post.

However, when you sober up, please define what a real country is. Perhaps you might consider updating Wikipedia and the CIA World Fact Book, while you are at it.

  3. He was displaying a "little" humor.

  4. geez..doesn't anyone watch South Park anymore?

  5. Hi ya redneck,
In fact we are a country, our beer has 5% alcohol
content and our legal drinking age is 18. We also like our neighbors to the south even though some of them are kind of ignorant. I guess every country has a certain percent of dummies. We travel to Vegas frequently and thanks to all the other Canadians who do the same, you probably have a job. Perhaps you should Google Redflag. There are more than just Canadian airforce jets flying in your airspace in August.
Use your time wisely on the internet. You have lots to learn grasshopper.

  6. yeah..thanks a lot for Bryan Adams and Celine Dion..you should have gotten bombed for that alone!
