Fatal shooting

Three people have been arrested in a Sunday robbery and fatal shooting in the western Las Vegas Valley, Metro Police said today.

Two men have been booked on charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a deadly weapon and felony murder. A third juvenile has been booked on conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery with the use of a deadly weapon, robbery with use of a deadly weapon and murder with the use of a deadly weapon, police said.

A 19-year-old man, identified as Dominique Evans, was shot and killed about 2:25 a.m. Sunday at a residence at 3410 Edenville Drive, near Desert Inn and Cimarron roads, police said.

Evans and his girlfriend had arrived at the house when a black car drove up behind them and a man approached Evans, demanding money, police said. The man then beat the 19-year-old and shot him once in the lower torso. His girlfriend managed to escape.

Matthew Dennis Laneave, 19, and Brian D. Gonzalez, 20, both of Las Vegas, were booked into the Clark County Detention Center, police said.

The juvenile has been booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

Metro investigators learned that the same three involved in this incident allegedly tried to commit a similar crime moments before Sunday's shooting and robbery in the same area. There were no injuries in that incident, police said.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Metro's Homicide Section at (702) 828-3521, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
