National Republican Senatorial Committee’s blaming Majority Leader Harry Reid

Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 | 2 a.m.

Whenever new Nevada unemployment figures are released, as they were Monday, you can set your clock by the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s release blaming Majority Leader Harry Reid for the state’s high number of out-of-work folks. Of course it’s Reid’s fault. Unless it is that of legislative Democrats, whose billion-dollar tax increase has caused the swelling unemployment rolls. That’s the spin that’s been coming from Gov. Jim Gibbons for a while now. Reid and the state Democrats point their fingers at Gibbons, saying the administration has been slow to spend stimulus dollars where they could do the most good (that railroad up in Northern Nevada sure is humming along, though). Now if only anyone knew how to fix it.
