The car belonging to an elderly woman who was robbed and severely beaten Wednesday in her home in the northwest Las Vegas Valley has been found nearby, Metro Police said today.
The 2008 Infiniti G35 has been processed and returned to the woman after it was found unoccupied in the area of Buffalo Avenue and Smoke Ranch Road, police said.
Police are still looking for a man who knocked at the woman's door, telling her he had lost his dog. The man returned moments later and the woman took the chain off the door, allowing the man to grab her, beat her in the face and take her keys and her vehicle, police said.
The man is described as Hispanic, in his late 20s with a muscular build and a shaved head. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt.
The man hasn't been identified, police said. Authorities said the man is considered armed and dangerous.
Robbery detectives are asking for the public's help in finding the man. Anyone with information is urged to call Metro's Robbery Section at (702) 828-3591, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
