LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Limbaugh blaming others for his faults
Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 | 2:02 a.m.
I see Rush Limbaugh is at it again. It seems as if he is putting the blame on the Obamaites and the director of the National Football League Players Association for his removal from the group that is trying to buy the St. Louis Rams.
I’m sure it never occurred to him that the problem may be his own big, loud, insensitive mouth.

No American seeking to pursue life ,liberty and the pursuit of his or her happiness should be prevented from pursuing it . Limbaugh's restraint is an injustice that needs to be legally barred. Where is the ACLU when a conservative is subject to the perverse injustices perpetrated by the kool aid drinking leftist thugs in this country?
It is also due to the two biggest race hustler, extortionist in the country the dishonorable Reverend Jessie Jackass er, er, Jackson (from the church of give me your money or we'll boycot you) and lying Al Sharpton (barely human if at all). Both should be in jail.
I would trust the word of Limbaugh over the utterings of the stupid president obama or whorehouse harry reid. Limbaugh has some honor. The other two do not.
Mr. O'Connor,
No need for you to guess at what Rush's thoughts are....here is his article on the issue...
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424...
...Now if you feel that the problem might be his big, loud, insensitive mouth, then it behooves you to post some such example of anything he said that was insensitive.
Limp-balls is wasting the air we breath.
What crack's me up is everybody is thinking Rush would OWN the Rams. Rush would " Own " a " SMALL PERCENTAGE" of the team to be quite Frank.
Neither Limbaugh's past racist comments nor his sexual orientation should not have been a factor in eliminating him from an ownership stake in a professional football team.
Folks, Limbaugh is the victim of very system he so gladly promotes: Captialism. His partners in the bid to buy the Rams determined he was a financial liability and expunged him from the group. It's just that simple.
As to the ACLU, there has been no constitutional violation. Regardless of who they were, they just spoke their mind about Limbaugh much the same as he does about others.
any group that would have the incendiary Rash Windbag as a member only lessens their effectiveness. This egotistical bastige thinks he knows more than even, birdiedreamin!! The real reason the consortium asked Rush to join them was for the Public Relations, now their judgment seems to be impaired and they are rethinking their position. Any group that wants to do anything at all would be well advised to consult Al Sharpton and the aforemention birdiedreamin. Then and only then will the country be well served.
TP,
It's not that simple...true, his partners did throw him under the bus, but it was because of FALSE statements made by several in the media. We should all be outraged that this can happen in this country in this day and age!
Rush Limbaugh has 20 million listeners' Air America went bankrupt. ENOUGH SAID!
Too bad it has come down to persecuting someone because he has different political beliefs than your own...
Limbaugh would be a laughing stock if he owned an NFL football-no one would want to play for him.
The number of listeners Limbaugh has is a non-issue. So is the fate of Air America. Limbaugh is a victim of his own making. Remember it was his conservative buddies that "throw him under the bus."
Who could possibly respect the opinion of hatemonger jlb101?
TP,
How is Limbaugh a victim of his own making? I've already posted a link with the whole story and stated in my last post that Limbaugh was the victim of FALSE statements made about him by the media, and you keep ignoring the truth and just posting nonsense.
enteaser,
Rush IS a victim of his own making. Have you been paying attention to the story? Rush has made comments that the NFL feels are very detrimental to their image. How did the media make that up? He was fired by ESPN for comments made on that station. Did the media make him say it?
gmager,
It was the false statements made by the media that the NFL used to squelch the deal.
The NFL has an image to maintain? What a joke...
The real truth is that the Left pounced on Rush Limbaugh like a pack of vultures on the carcass of a dead lion...
gmag,
Yes, I've been paying close attention. Have you? Did you read the link I provided in my first post(post #3)? You say..."Rush has made comments that the NFL feels are very detrimental to their image."...OK, what comments? Rush was fired by ESPN in 2003 for the comments about the media needing to have a black QB(McNabb) and thus overrating McNabb. That was atrue statement then as well as now and certainly not detrimental to the NFL or their image. Please try to keep up with this discussion...that incident has nothing to do with this incident.
gmag,
Here's the link for the youtube video of the entire Limbaugh ESPN show about the McNabb incident...
http://justifiedright.typepad.com/justif...
I wish he would have got the team, he would waste his money and he would fail. Remember those ugly "no boundaries" neckties he was pushing? that business flopped. He is a gasbag and would have made a fool of himself on a weekly basis.
He should be removed as a judge from the beauty pageant and banned from all casinos.
No one likes him, that's why he has been divorced three times and had to resort to prescription drugs.
Hopefully foreign countries will ban him like Britain banned Michael Sewage.
Looks like the much vaunted "free market" at work (for once) to me. His investor group ditched him not Jesse Jackson or President Obama or the left wing, nor the NFL. There is no constitutional or even legal debate here hence the ACLU would have nothing to do with it.
If you can't work at ESPN who would want to go into business with him to own a NFL team?
His racist remarks came back to bite him in the rear; there is the personal responsibility that the pseudo-patriots love to talk about so much. He made his bed and now he gets to lay in it.
ThisOneGuy,
You said..."His racist remarks..."
...OK, so please identify any such racist remarks. TIA.
ps. by the way, it's lie, not lay..."he gets to lay in it."
If no one likes him why is he making $35,000,000 a year doing a radio show? The way the fool in the White House's poll numbers are dropping NO one will like him in several more months. But then again, Obama is a total moron.
mred and his boys of hate from the Left are out in force today...
mred states: "No one likes him..." Really mred? No one??? How many million of listeners does Limbaugh have?
mred and his boys will say anything to demonize those who have different political views then theirs.
Here is a pretty fair break down of his racist comments.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/li...
And thank you for pointing out my intransitive / transitive error back there.
jlb101:
President Obama will be in for 8 FULL YEARS.
LarryVegas:
People who back Rush are the minority.
The majority still rules.
Hey teamster,
I don't back Rush Limbaugh... I don't even listen to him, but I don't like it when someone gets a raw deal because of his political beliefs...
His investor 'friends' gave him 'the raw deal' no one else.
Gasp! A bunch of rich people treating someone in an unfair manner? Say it ain't so.
enteaser,
What Rush says in the video, in essence, is that Donovan McNabb isn't nearly as good as people think. He intimates that Donavon has been rewarded with his position as a quarterback in the NFL largely because of the "desire to have a black quarterback succeed,"
and he really isn't that good at quarterback.
At the time of Rush's comments, as Tom Jackson pointed out in the video, McNabb had been to several Pro Bowls and had taken the Eagles to several NFC championship games. NEWSFLASH! This just in to the newsroom...Donavon McNabb is a pretty good quarterback who happens to be black.
Of course, the ESPN thing is just one of many, many instances of comments or statements made by the big fella that, upon further investigation, are proven to be absolute rubbish. That there is a massive audience for this blowhard just blows my mind.
ISH.
Skol, Vikings!
ThisOneGuy,
For all those that count on snopes, here is some info that
might be of interest to you.
THIS MAY SURPRISE YOU
snopes.com
For the past few years www.snopes.com has positioned
itself, or others have labeled it as the 'tell-all, final word' on any
comment, claim and e-mail..
But for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com . Only recently did Wikipedia get to the bottom of it - kind of makes you wonder what they were hiding. Well, finally we know. It is run by a husband and wife team - that's right, no big
office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers.. It's just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby.
David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando
Valley of California started the web site about 13 years ago - and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research. After a few years it gained popularity believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the past couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation? The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result of snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issues, when in fact, they have been proven wrong. Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom of various issues.
When I saw that Snopes had falsely claimed that Obama's
Birth Certificate had been properly validated, I realized something was wrong with either their research and/or their credibility. It seems
something is seriously wrong with both.
...
and the rest of the Snopes.com article...
Then a few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the Internet. Supposedly the Mikkelsons claim to have researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com. In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort ever took place.
I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back
to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this, and I gave him Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers. Bud was going to give him phone num bers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it. He never called Bud. In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm. Yet snopes.com issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things. Not!
Then it has been learned the Mikkelsons are very Democrat
and extremely liberal. As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative. There has been much criticism lately over the Internet with people pointing out the Mikkelsons liberalism revealing itself in their web site findings.
Gee, what a shock!
So, I say this now to everyone who goes to www.snopes...com
to get what they think to be the bottom line facts: Proceed with caution.
Take what it says at face value and nothing more. Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself.
Plus, you can always Google a subject and do the research
yourself. It now seems apparent that's all the Mikkelsons do. After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their 'not' fully looking
into things.
ThisOneGuy,
Those first 2 alleged quotes at Snopes.com are the ones that were fabricated and used by the liberal media to discredit Limbaugh and make his partners throw him under the bus. True it was his rich "friends" who treated him unfairly but for this to happen to anyone, rich or poor, in America is a cause for concern.
gmag,
What Rush said about the media hoping for McNabb to succeed is the truth. It wasn't racist then and it certainly isn't racist now, and it was not why Rush was dumped from the Rams ownership group.
Sounds like the right to free speech and the right to associate (and do business) with who you wish to me. Cornerstones of our Democracy.
And that article(?) or story you are using to discredit snopes is actually a chain email that is full of factual errors. Where did you see that? Not from any sort of vetted news source I am guessing.
Here is the real info about that little bit of propaganda:
http://www.factcheck.org/2009/04/snopesc...
And since we are talking about media issues here enteaser, why don't you define "Liberal media" for me. Who is in this group and how did they get there? This is a term tossed around by the pseudo-patriots often enough so I assume you can tell me what exactly it means.
"used by the liberal media to discredit Limbaugh and make his partners throw him under the bus."
What was the title of this? Something about blaming others for what happens to you. The media MADE his partners throw him under the bus.
Why are so many RIGHTY'S also CONSPIRACY THEORISTS?
Nature or Nurture?
Another dumbacrat article!!!
Anyone care to take a stab at telling me what exactly the "liberal media" is?
According to Dan Sutter of the University of Oklahoma, a systematic liberal bias in the U.S. media could depend on the fact that owners and/or journalists typically lean to the left.
This is also why people on the extreme left and the extreme right have such a hard time riding motorcycles. They lean so far over that they can not recover and so they keep falling over. Now us guys who are in the center do not have that problem. We can lean a little to the left or to the right and have no problem returning to center.
What are the statements falsely attributed to Rush Limbaugh?
Limbaugh has just as much a right to own a piece of a football team as anyone else has. Who say's that Pro football has the corner on economic civil rights pursuits? In fact what the hell does civil rights have anything to do with this issue? Don't tell me it's because the majority of the players are black, that just has nothing to do with who can own or not own a team. Unfortunately Jackson and Sharpton with this issue has just created a racial controversy. But then again thats what they do best...
Houstonjac writes: "Where is the ACLU when a conservative is subject to the perverse injustices perpetrated by the kool aid drinking leftist thugs in this country?"
---
The ACLU did file court briefs siding with Rush Limbaugh back when Rush was facing legal troubles over narcotics and money laundering a few years back when his drug addiction landed him hot water.
I've seen long lists of variously offensive statements Rush Limbaugh has made over the years but it's not clear which one Rush Limbaugh is denying he made.
His investment group booted him, no one else. All of the things republicans love at work here.
