A settlement has been reached in a landlord's lawsuit against the Democratic Party of Nevada over allegedly unpaid rent.
Danielle Miller, an attorney for the landlord with the Las Vegas law firm Sylvester & Polednak, said Monday terms of the settlement are confidential.
The party was represented in the dispute by the Jones Vargas law firm.
In a statement Monday, the party said: "The Nevada State Democratic Party always intended to settle this debt and we're pleased to have resolved this matter to the satisfaction of both parties."
Timothy and Carol Antoku of Honolulu filed suit last month in Clark County District Court against the party.
The lawsuit concerned space the Democrats formerly leased in Las Vegas at Plaza De Vegas, 1325 Vegas Valley Drive, north of the intersection of Maryland Parkway and Desert Inn Road.
The lawsuit said that pursuant to a 2003 lease, the party was to pay $4,094 in monthly rent for five suites totaling 5,520 square feet.
The Antokus asserted that in January the defendant agreed to pay past-due rent in monthly installments and was to have the balance paid off by April -- but had failed to do so.
The lawsuit said the past-due balance was $18,281.
The Vegas Valley office space at issue is now occupied by other tenants, including religious ministries. The Democratic Party is now at 1210 S. Valley View Blvd., at Charleston Boulevard.

Oh! What joy!
ANOTHER CLARK COUNTY (REAL ESTATE) ABSENTEE LANDLORD....
So much for transparency...
Renter have to many right.
The renters (the Democratic Party) must have gotten their stimulus checks directly from the Kenyan Marxist's Oval Office desk srawer.
Hey, afveteran, wow, that was really funny! How you threw two names at the President like that, being all dismissive, using your constitutional right to speak freely to write something that you believe was somehow clever!
Too bad you concluded by misspelling the word "drawer".
Next time you want to call someone names, use the dictionary.
The 'sdrawer' was a typo, if you notice the s and d keys are next to each other, and I rarely read my postings before hitting the go button.
See how simple it is to understand. You must be a liberal democrat who voted for a Kenyan communist for President, huh?
