Republicans got us into messes, lack ideas to get us out

I must comment on Richard McCord’s sarcasm-filled letter to the editor in Friday’s Las Vegas Sun concerning the attempts by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to get us out of the economic mess, a mess I believe was created by Republicans.
Typically from House Minority Leader John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell we hear only negativity with no ideas that would get the nation out of this morass. That is why the Republican Party is the “Party of No” and why I dub Republicans the “Abominable No-Men,” and why they are not simply phonies, but, on a higher level, “fauxnies.”

Harry Greid and Nancy Piglosi are going to get us out of this economic mess? That is a joke. All those two are going to do is bankrupt the Government and line their own pockets in the process. Democrats are the party of know nothing.
The so called stimulus plan has done nothing but increase the defecit and give raises to worthless state and local government workers who do absolutely nothing useful.
Democratic Purity Test is
(1) DEMs support invasive government, large national debt, high deficits and job killing taxes by supporting bills like Obama's "stimulus" bill, TARP, Cap and Trade;
(2) DEMs support government-based health care reform and oppose market-style private run healthcare;
(3) DEMs support government-based energy reforms by supporting tax, cap and speculate legislation;
(4) DEMs support workers' right to union intimidating card check;
(5) DEMs support illegal immigration assimilation into American society and citizenship for illegal immigrants;
(6) DEMs support quitting in Iraq and Afghanistan by rejecting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) DEMs support containment of Iran and North Korea, by verbal sparring to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
(8) DEMs support the breakdown marriage by rejecting the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) DEMs support health care rationing and funding of abortion;
(10) DEMs reject the right to keep and bear arms by supporting government restrictions on gun ownership;
We the Teabaggers are saying no to the above which Democrats want to ram down our collective throat.
This is what the WE wants:
(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama's "stimulus" bill;
(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run healthcare;
(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
(4) We support workers' right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership;

You have to be against government programs, but expect Social Security checks on time.

The Fascist Criminal Enterprise of cheney/puppet bush will never own up to their responsibility in creating the worst economic decline, the worst diplomatic crisis, and the worst US government in US history. I fail to see how blaiming one side of the aisle over the other is going to bring about any progress. It seems to me that such finger pointing will only get us running around in circles. Yes, the "stimulus" plans are only a ploy to make the Government feel good about taking action in this recession, and will have little positive affect on the future of our economy. But we should remember that that first big "stimulus" package was puhsed through the system under the Bush administration.
George Bush also heavily supported The Immigration Reform Act of 2007 during his final year of presidency. This bill offered anmesty to all illegal immegrants living in the United States.
Plus, as far as I recall the current health care bill was stripped of Government funded abortion.
If WE were all true teabagers, we would be taking real action against all Government, both Right and Left of the aisle. Both Republican and Democrat elected officials are forgetting that this is a Government 'by' 'for' and 'of' the people. And we only have ourselves to blame if WE are unhappy with the state of our country.
Teabager, I assume, refers to the Boston teat party, were colonial Americans boycotted the tea tax imposed by the King of England by throwing the tea in Boston Harbor. Not by just complaining about the tax. So TAKE REAL ACTION if you are unhappy with this country. Run for office. Or gather twenty of your friends together and have them get twenty of there friends and so on, and litter the Whithouse lawn with the paperwork from you tax-return. Or find some other way to send a real message to our government. Words are too easily wasted in today's world.
This is how this mess happened:
1) Carter created a program to get poor people into homes and the Republicans agreed to it
2) Clinton signed laws that was passed by Republicans to degrulated banking and mortgage lending.
3) Clinton pushed really hard on the financial lending institutions to relax standards so that anybody, especially poor minorities, can get into homes
4) Bush continued the policies of Clinton
5) Clinton appointees to the FRB voted to keep interest rates artifically low
6) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (quasi-government private institutions) were buying up risky ARM mortgages and bundling them up other OK mortgages and re-selling them into the market place. This removed the risk from the people who were making the mortgages for they were just selling to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for a quick profit
7) Gas prices start to rise and the Feds had to raise interest rates to combat inflation. The higher gas prices hurt the economy and people lost income and lost jobs. Also the higher interest rates trigger people not to met the rising ARM rates mortgage payments. Forclosure started to happen and the real estate market collapsed.
This is not the first lending/banking caused economic panic.
There has been many lending/banking caused panics in US history.
The Democratic Party was born out a lending/banking caused panic.
The government should simplified banking and take out the complexity. Those people in DC/NYC/Charlotte/San Fran think they are so smart with all those degrees. They are not really that smart.
They should go back to basic banking and heavily regulated it.
Here is a big big hint that it was both Republicans and Democrats that contributed to the big mess...........
There has not been any significant hearings by either the Senator or Congress or by the Executive branch into the cause of the mess.

Priviledge-Most of the Fortune 400 have obtained their wealth the honest way. They earned it. Of the top ten wealthiest only five have inherited it and they are relatives of Sam Walton. The other five are Bill Gates, Microsoft; Paul Allen, Microsoft; Larry Ellison, Oracle; Warren Buffet, Berkshire Hathaway; and another gentlemen from Microsoft whos name I don't remember. Priviged? no. Smart and hard working? Yes. They earned whaht they have not Uncle Scam.
Social Security? I would love to have back the money those government scum took from my paycheck plus the amount my employer paid and have this invested at 6%. I would have about $750,000. I'll keep the little pittance they give me every month because I earned it many times over. Social Security is a scam and anyone who thinks different is a fool. Go take some finance classes and don't be so stupid.
I don't see why two gays should be married. Homosexuality is a perversion just like child molestion is. We don't let a 5 year old girl marry a 70 year old man. This is America and English is the language we have always spoken here. You can speak anything you want at home but if you go to the government office I should not have to pay to provide a translator for you. If you want to live here learn the language, otherwise move somewhere that speaks your language.
There is little pollution in this country I have no problemw with it.
A fetus is not a part of a woman's body, it does not have the same genetic makeup as the woman. The genetics of a fetus are a combination of the mother's and father's genes. Why should a woman be allowed destroy to something created by two people.
I'm not sure what Jesus thinks. The Bible condems same sex relationships. The woman at the well admitted her sins to Jesus and he told her to change her ways and go and sin no more. I expect he would say the same thing to gays.
Ken Starr was not investigating Clinton for cheating on his wife, (looking at Hillary, I can understand why he did). Clinton was prosecuted for lying under oath in a federal trial and was convicted by the judge. He should have been removed from office. He got off easy as he only lost his law license.
If I received a death threat or was a battered wife who was being harassed by an estranged husband I would want to buy a firearm that day. The solution to the gun problem is to add twenty five years to the sentence of anyone using a firearm in a felony. That is real simple.
Parents should be the one's providing condoms to their children. The schools cannot even teach students to read, write and add adequately. They should concentrate on what they're supposed to do and leave moral judgements to the parents.
Socialism has not worked well as there are a number of European countries are turning to the right, Germany being to most notable. Socialism is downright stupid in the first place. If I would receive my pay and many other benefits whether I worked or not I would spend my days on the golf course or ski slopes. Why work if you don't have to. I spent my working life to benefit myself and my family, and have done quite well. I have not done it for the "greater good".
Mr Gingrich, Ensign, and Sanford did cheat on their wives, but I have never known this to be illegal. Ensign and Sanford did possibly break some other laws and should pay for them. I see that Teddy Kennedy murdered a young lady and walked away from that. Charlie Rangle is too damned stupid to know to pay taxes on his Carribean investments, yet he is chairman of the committee that writes tax law. Genus. William Jefferson just got thirteen years in the slammer for cold cash. A great American. How many other Democrats are under investigation for ethics violations? Maxine Waters? Shiela McKinnie, Jessie Jackson Jr.? Don't throw stones at Repbulicans as there are a lot more Democrats looking at charges than anyone else.

...You shouldn't enjoy it; BHO and his liberal/socialist pals are trying to destroy capitalism in order to establish a socialist system and redistribute the wealth. And the sad part is that most people do not recognize this fact yet. I played golf today with a wealthy capitalist, and he is still proud of the fact that he voted for BHO; he considers himself better than me, whom he considers a racist; when confronted with the fact that BHO is a socialist/communist who is trying to destroy this country, he just poo-poos the idea. Why is Mr. Geitner and Mr. Bernake getting more nervous daily as the Congress is getting ready to pass Ron Pauls' bill to audit the fed.
Do you think that there will be secrets uncovered that that will point to the way the Federal Reserve has manipulated our economy since its begining? Do you think that some of the major businesses and banks illegal doings that have been controlling the fed and our economy will finally be exposed the country?
Are there some that are afraid that they may be found out that their federal crimes relating to their businesss practices will bring federal charges against them.
I think it's about time to expose the the way the fed has manipulated Americas money since its begining.
total freaking bullcrap. too much government regulation from liberals forcing their "Community Reinvestment Act" onto banks got us into this mess. this lowered lending standards all across the board and created things like the subprime loan, no money down, and ninja loans (no income, no job). then criminal bankers acting with no moral hazard because they knew the goverment would ride to the rescue compounded the problem by selling mortgage backed securities and derivatives on these risky loans. the source of the original problem is the CRA lowering standards. both parties have responsibility but, it is the liberals who have by far the most.

Why is so hard to say that all parties may be to blame? Throughout the years. Regardless of political affiliation, are we too ashamed to admit that our political representatives are human and prone to make mistakes just like any other?
But I do understand, it's easy to blame the person who voluntarily decided to take charge of a nation.

The economy is slowly getting better but we're a long way from being where we were 10-12 years ago under the Clinton administration.
I find it rather bizzare that many right-wingers are actually hoping that the economy will continue to go in the crapper which would be bad for the country but great for the Republicans come election time in 2010.
In other words, the Republicans care very little about the country as a whole....they want control of the government and nothing else matters....
Of course, they would have all of us believe that they are the party that truly represents each and every American.
