LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Don’t be fooled by insurers’ ads attacking Titus
Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 | 2:03 a.m.
I wish to caution readers who have been exposed to the deceptive and outright false claims made by TV ads targeting Rep. Dina Titus’ support of the Affordable Health Care for America Act.
Beware of health industry fronts spending millions to protect their billions of profits. They’re fighting for their bottom lines, not for your good health.
Visit nonpartisan research Web sites such as FactCheck.org to sort out the real facts. There isn’t enough room here to do it, but each of those lies can be refuted — from the tax scare (no small business or middle/working class taxes are affected) to rising health care costs (which is happening as we do nothing to rein them in).
Health care is important enough to spend some time learning about, not taking for granted what you see in a slick TV ad.

Titus raised taxes on the poor and low income families so that the middle class can get free health insurance for their children.
Ms. Taxus just loves taxes.
It was one of the first bills that she voted for.
That's Dina Taxes.
I love it when leeches write letters. You'll get no free health care from my tax dollars, Linda sweety.
But aren't you CUTE, writing letters and such!
Titus Sucks! Greedy, selfish incompetent woman. Dump her in 2010.
it really is very simple...
you either support the public option...
or...
you support the greedy pig insurance companies and their very real death panels and the money grubbing whore doctors...
period...
end of story...
Linda: GREAT LETTER
GREEDY REPUBLICANS ALWAYS LIE.
GIVE EM HELL, DINA AND HARRY.
Good Letter Linda. It never ceases to amaze me how the corporate interests and their stooge representative Republicans (Ensign, Heller, and the like) can talk the lower class Republicans out of voting for thier own interests. Guns, Religion and FOX are all it takes for these people.
Thanks for calling a majority of Nevadans...Republicans.
According to polls, a majority of Nevadans are against the healh care reform bills being pushed.
Thanks for the 411, notacon.
Something HAS to be done about all of these bogus political ads. I don't care which side they are from; THEY SHOULD HAVE TO BE TRUE!
And not taken completely out of context, which is just another form of lying. Also, all the PAC-paid "attack ads" are revolting too and usually made up of the "out of context" distortions and outright lies. Why can't a candidate simply state what they stand for, and run on that?
The majority of Nevadans are for health care
reform. Only greedy Republicans are against it.
Thank GOD FOR Dina and Harry.
Every poll I've looked at says the Majority of Nevadans are against this bill. I do not understand our elected officials thinking it's acceptable to go around their constituents and vote their views over their constituents. I'll guarantee you, I'll remember when it's time to vote.
gmag39 - Have to agree with you, it would be refreshing to have each side state their case and let the chips fall where they may.
