House fire
When Henderson firefighters arrived at a residence near Boulder Highway and Racetrack Road about 7:45 p.m. Thursday, flames and smoke from a garage had engulfed a vehicle parked in the driveway.
It took about five minutes to bring the fire under control, keeping it confined to the three-car garage at 617 Braverwood Drive, said Battalion Chief Matthew Morris.
Two adults inside the house are being assisted by family, Morris said. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians, Morris said.
The fire was ruled accidental, with the cause still under investigation, Morris said. Damage is estimated at a minimum of $110,000.
A total of 27 Fire Department crew members went to the fire, including four engines, one ladder truck, two paramedic rescue units, three chief officers and a safety officer. A fire investigator, city building inspector and utility company representatives also assisted in securing the residence.

Wow a garage fire. I think maybe we should start giving firefighters a bonus based upon how much damage was done to the structure in the fire. Say 10% of damage. In this case it would be $11,000 well deserved.
