Police search for man in fatal apartment complex shooting

Metro Police heard several shots fired at about 10:13 p.m. Sunday from the west side of an apartment complex as they were conducting an investigation in the area of 2200 W. Bonanza Road.
Officers then found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said.
Emergency medical crews arrived and the man, identified as 18-year-old Calvin Thompson of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Metro homicide detectives are searching for a man seen arguing with Thompson before the shooting occurred, police said.

Is this the story where the Metro officer "feared" for his life and discharged his weapon at a fleeing suspect? I said FLEEING suspect. I wonder if the DA would prosecute me if I discharged a weapon on a city street at a fleeing person? Will the officer be prosecuted?
