The Nevada Highway Patrol doesn't intend to file charges against a driver who struck a pedestrian who was crossing Interstate 15 near Tropicana Avenue about 9:22 p.m. Monday.
The man, 33-year-old Paul E. Presley of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck in the far left lane of southbound traffic, said Trooper Alan Davidson of the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The man was crossing Interstate 15 from west to east at the time of the collision, Davidson said.
No charges will be filed against the driver of the passenger car, Davidson said.

well, duh?
I'm glad you all think this is so funny. That was my cousin that was hit and killed. This isn't so funny to his grieving parents. The fault was definitely Paul's, but it would be nice if you would remember that he was a human being, with parents, sisters, grandparents and family that loved him. I especially want to thank "goingbust" whose comments were apparently so vile the editors removed them. It is so easy to pass judgment and make snarky comments, and I honestly hope that none of you ever have to live through this nightmare.
Likewise, Paul was a cousin of mine. His family's pain is very real. No one knows why he did this, but it's certainly not hilarious to anyone who loved him. It certainly wouldn't be funny if it were your child or relative who had died this way.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Paul Presley. The tragic event reminds us how fragile life can be. We do not always understand why tragedies happen, but these are the times families come together to heal from the loss. Today, there is one less friend, brother, cousin, and son as a result of the accident. The saddness will soften with time and the loving arms from family and friends will provide solace and comfort.
