Ivey eliminated in 7th from World Series of Poker

Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009 | 12:52 a.m.

Phil Ivey has been eliminated from the World Series of Poker main event in seventh place after Darvin Moon caught a queen to make a pair for the last of the professional's chips.

The 32-year-old professional poker player lost the last of his chips early Sunday when his ace-king didn't improve against Moon's ace-queen.

Ivey's hand was far ahead of Moon's when the players gambled their money, but the turn and river offered no help after a queen came on the flop.

Ivey won $1.4 million for seventh place, while each of the higher finishers will receive at least $1.59 million.
