Sunny skies, light winds and highs in the 70s are on tap today for the Las Vegas Valley.

The National Weather Service says dry weather, with above-normal temperatures will continue through Wednesday for the region.

A Pacific storm system will bring cooler and more unsettled weather late in the week and into the weekend, with a slight chance of valley rain and mountain snow mainly north of Las Vegas, the weather service said.

This morning, temperatures were starting out at 54 degrees at 5:56 a.m. at McCarran International Airport. The normal low temperature for today is 47 degrees and the record low is 24, set in 1938.

Temperatures will rise to 66 degrees by 9 a.m. and to 73 degrees by noon, then top out at 78 degrees at 3 p.m., forecasters said. The normal high for today's date is 69 degrees and the record high is 83 degrees, set in 1950.

Monday morning's low will fall to 51 degrees and Monday's high will climb to 77 degrees by about 3 p.m., forecasters said.

Temperatures will warm up to a high of 80 on Tuesday, and for Veteran's Day on Wednesday, temperatures will be near 79 degrees, with sunny skies, forecasters said.
