Las Vegas Sun reporters Ray Brewer and Steve Silver are all over the map this week as regular season comes to an end for football and the NIAA once again redraws soccer brackets.

Entering Friday night’s game, Silverado had everything to play for. Green Valley had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Skyhawks needed to win to clinch a playoff berth.
So Silverado beat up on Green Valley, right?
Wrong. Green Valley stunned Silverado, 23-17, to close the season with a victory.
“It’s disappointing when you don’t get a chance to go to the playoffs when you’ve been there for three years straight,” Green Valley coach Matt Gerber said. “When you don’t make it, it hurts and it’s tough. For our kids to fight and not pack it in, that says a lot.”
Green Valley relied on its rushing attack to beat Silverado. Rakeem Griffin, Treveece Jackson and Jordan Corbett all had big games on the ground.
It was an appropriate game to close out the regular season for the Southeast Division, where parity among teams has been at an all-time high.
“Some divisions there are one or two teams where you know they’re going to win every week,” Gerber said. “It’s fun to be in a league where it’s a battle every week.”
