Desert Pines’ game plan against Eldorado Friday was pretty simple: Give the ball to the running backs.
It worked to perfection as the Jaguars routed the Sundevils 41-27 to close out the regular season.
“Our backs did a phenomenal job,” Desert Pines coach Paul Bennett said. “We just kept rotating them and the line did a great job blocking.”
Sophomore Leon Hayes had the most yards on the ground with 180. Chancellor Davis complemented him with a strong showing.
Eldorado’s season ended, while Desert Pines is headed to the playoffs.
“We were getting ready for the stretch,” Bennett said. “We’ve got some guys going.”
