Carson supervisors move ahead with redevelopment

Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 | 11:31 a.m.

Carson City supervisors have endorsed a downtown redevelopment plan that includes a library and business center.

The proposal would involve a partnership with owners of the Carson Nugget, who own most of the vacant 8 acres of land upon which the project will be developed.

Besides a library and business center, the 350,000 square-foot project also would include a digital media lab, office and retail space, housing, an IMAX theater and a transit hub.

City officials say the next step is to estimate costs and how to pay for it.
