Warm day in the 80s ahead for Las Vegas
Near-record temperatures continue to warm southern Nevada
Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 | 7:17 a.m.
Sunny skies, calm winds and afternoon temperatures climbing into the low 80s — near-record levels — are heading to Las Vegas today, according to the National Weather Service.
But temperatures will start cooling off to more seasonal levels after this weekend, the weather service said.
Temperatures were starting out this morning at 64 degrees at 6:56 a.m. at McCarran International Airport. The normal low is 47 degrees and the record low was 27, set in 1940.
Temperatures will climb to 71 degrees by 9 a.m., to 77 by noon and reach a high of 82 degrees at 3 p.m., forecasters said. The normal high for today is 70 degrees and the record high was 85 degrees, set in 1988.
If you're heading out this evening to a high school football game, temperatures will be 70 degrees at 7 p.m. and 63 degrees at 10 p.m., forecasters said.
Overnight, temperatures will drop to a low of 55 degrees by 6 a.m. Saturday and will climb through the day to reach a high of 78 degrees by 3 p.m. Saturday, forecasters said.
The extended forecast calls for Sunday's morning low to be 54 and Sunday's afternoon high to reach 76 degrees. Monday's high will be 72 and Tuesday's high will be 75.

so Dave what does that mean for us Rebel fans for tomorrow? How cold is it supposed to get?
You might want to wear a sweatshirt or a jacket. The forecast calls for it to be about 63 degrees at the 7 p.m. kickoff at Sam Boyd Stadium. And by the time the game ends it will be about 57 degrees. There will be a west-northwest wind about 3 to 5 mph.
