57-year-old words that continue to ring true today

What follows is a brief portion of a speech delivered by President Harry S. Truman at a Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner on March 29, 1952:
“The real Republican campaign is not going to be fought on the issues. The Republicans are going to wage a campaign of phony propaganda. They are going to try what we might call the ‘white is black’ and the ‘black is white’ strategy ...
“And this is the way it will work. First of all, they will try to make people believe that everything the government has done for the country is socialism.
“They will go to the people and say: ‘Did you see that Social Security check you received the other day? You thought that was good for you, didn’t you? That’s just too bad! That’s nothing in the world but socialism.
“ ‘Did you see that new flood control dam the government is building over there for the protection of your property? Sorry, that’s awful socialism! That new hospital that they are building is socialism. Price supports, more socialism for the farmers!
“ ‘Minimum wage laws? Socialism for labor! Socialism is bad for you, my friend. Everybody knows that. And here you are, with your new car, and your home, and better opportunities for the kids, and a television set — you are just surrounded by socialism!’ ”
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Guess who ended his presidency with a higher approval rating: The recent G. Bush or Truman.
I think it is so funny that he quotes Truman who basically triggered one of the biggest Republican landslides in almost every level of office both national and on state levels at the end of his last year in office.
After Comrade Obama gets through jacking up our taxes, the average citizen will not have enough money left to afford a new car, a home, a television set and an education for the kids. But all the illegals will be able to get free heart surgery, dilysis, and hip transplants. What a great country the United States used to be.
I think that the people who live and work in the Washington DC environs can't distinguish the smell of horse manure anymore. Just like the people in the Cleveland neighborhood that didn't know what it was they smelled coming out of that basement where there was 11 dead women buried. How bad does something have to smell before we do something about it? Pelosi, Reid, Obama, Emanuel, and Axelrod are all emitting a strong odor. Fear.
SgtRock, Truman also issued an executive order (XO) which "DESEGREGATED" all of our military units. Along comes Cong. GHWB, "You Lie"'s daddy, Quayle's daddy, and Alito's daddy. This posse of Jim Crows violated Truman's XO and "RESEGREGATED" all of military units, when they carved out NAM sanctuary slots for their boys in the "racially-segregated" National Guard. Civil Rights Act of 1964 violations and commisson of high crimes and misdmeanors too.
Gov. George Romney (Nixon cabinet member) was also determined that Mitt and Orrin Hatch would never set foot in NAM either, even if it meant he would have to committ felony offenses in the process. When the stuff broke-out in NAM, Mitt donned his beret', and he broke for Paris, France and his racially-segregated Mormon mission (freak-a-zoids).
Elijah Muhammad (WWII) and his son, Wallace D. Muhammad (Vietnam), they pulled the "Mitt-Hatch" trick. Elijah, "I won't particiapte in the white man's JIHAD". Wallace also refused the draft for his own religious beliefs. This fahter and son both served 3 federal prison sentences for religious draft evasion. Elijah was Muhammad Ali's religious advisor. Need I say more? Mitt and Hatch are FELONS, that owe Blacks folks 3 years in federal prison. Hey Obama! Hey Holder! Can ya'll hear me? Where is those loons and KKK members like Beck, Palin, Dobbs (birther-commie-sider) when you need them?

President Truman spoke the truth to the American people. The same cannot be said of the pseudo republicans. President Eisenhower, before he left office, warned the American people about the excessive growth of the military industrial complex and of the demagoguery of the republicans and McCarthyism. Some of these people who are against it like the bachmans palins Limbaugh have one thing in common they are always attempting to gain attention to themselves for their own motives. All politicians are demagogues including the lying Democrats. The only promise Obama made ggod on was appointing a few native Americans to some kind of Mickey Mouse panel. What a crock!
When only half of all qualified voters turn out for an election this is what you get. We are not fighting any facists or nazis. We are fighting religious fanatics. Do away with all religion and you will see that. Now go kiss Jeremiah Wright's ring and let us alone.

There will be absolutely no changes to Health Care. You will get sick and Medicare/Medicaid will pay for your recovery and when your allotment money runs out, the hospital will send you home to die. Just like always.
Whatever Pelosi and Reid and Axelrod-Emanuel tell you is just eyewash. THEY DON'T HAVE THE VOTES!

AARP is no more than a member based insurance company. They have lost thousands of members due to their political action and will lose thousands more.
AARP represents the bureaucrats that have a vested interest in AARP. They do not represent their members.
AARP sends me a monthly dues statement and I always sent it back to them with a note saying how dissatisfied I am with their political actions. And of course, being a senior, I tell other seniors about the lack of representation at AARP.
I also really feel bad that some people are taken in by these selfish people... AARP...
I get occasional mailings from the AARP wanting me to join and buy their crappy insurance. I always write obcenities on the letter and tape the business reply envelope to a five pound cement brick and let them pay the first class postage on it. The morons still haven't figured it out.
The U.S. Postal Service should be doing pretty good with all of 1st Class prepaid replies going back to AARP. I even stuff the original used envelope and all their literature back in the prepaid envelope.
Oh, of course, I add a nice greeting while I am at it...
Yep, somethings never change....Truman hit the nail on the head with his 1952 speech.
Harry knew that all any Democrat had to do when dealing with the GOP was tell the truth.
The GOP then and now has great difficulty dealing with the truth...
The GOP still believes, as they did in 1952, that progress is walking backwards....
Oh? Which Democrat has ever told told the truth? I can't remember one. Obama is a liar. Clinton was a liar. Johnson was a liar. Carter didn't actually lie, he was just too stupid to tell what the truth was.

Mr Geisler-I saw my last Social Security check it was a measley $1500. I worked my butt off since I was 16 and quit working when I was 64. I sat down and calculated what I paid in and what my employers paid in and calculated what I would have if it were invested at 6% interest from the time I earned it. I would have had something in excess of $800,000 if it had been invested in a personal account. If you think $1500 a month is a fair return for the amount I paid in you are a complete and total moron. I should be getting at least $2500 to $3000 a month with the principal remaining intact so I could leave it to my family when I die. You are a complete ignorant fool. I have wasted a good portion of my life working to enhance the government scum. Social Security sucks. You should go back to school and learn a bit about economics and investments. You might not make such foolish statements showing the public your ingorance.
Minimum wage? If I want to work for $2.00 an hour why is it any of your damned business or the business of our corrupt and useless government. What has happened to freedom?
