Letter to the editor:
There’s political truth in what Limbaugh says
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009 | 2:03 a.m.
Regarding the Las Vegas Sun’s Tuesday editorial, “A Rush to judgment”:
How long will it be before the left gets it? When was Rush Limbaugh elected to any political office? Time after time there are letters to the editor and editorials on Limbaugh. He is an entertainer, and like all entertainers he has the right to free speech.
Most of the country believes we have weak leadership not only among the Democrats but also among the Republicans. We, the American public, have been divided for the past 25 years.
We have let an aging Congress take away many of our rights, plus our money. They have lined their pockets with our cash and really don’t give a damn about the American public. We keep electing these people on a party-line basis, and that is where the problems lie.
I think what Limbaugh says is right, that Barack Obama is just an extension of the same old way we do business in Washington, and if we really look in the mirror, he’s right.
Obama, like George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, are puppets of special interests and their advisers. These are the people who run this country, not the president.
With the midterm elections coming up in 2010, people are starting to figure this out, and whether you’re a Democrat or a Republican, your chosen party has to become responsible and the people who lead it must be more responsible to the people.
Limbaugh and Obama will not lead you out of this mess — only you will, by reading between the lines and picking the best people for the job, not the party.

Good letter!
Right on Dave - the sooner folks can figure things out for themselves instead of acting like sheep and following the leader, this country will be better off. The right and the left provide talking and starting off points which everyone should evaluate with an open mind and reach their own decision.
rushbo the drug addict is a fear mongerer who spews hate all day every day...
he is divisive...
the saddest part of all is...
he would love to ruin this country as long as his ratings went up...
moreover...
many of his listeners have serious psychological issues with feelings of inadequacy...
they listen to rushbo the drug addict because he makes them feel better about themselves...
by putting those less fortunate down he gives them a false sense of superiority...
bottom line...
rushbo the drug addict's show is a daily celebration of ugliness!!!
Hey Birdie - you complain about Rush, what about you? You spew the hatred towards those that do not believe in your cause. Sooooo, your no better than Rush ??
Hey, Birdie,
Speaking of psychological issues, do you realize that in order to read your posts one has to continually move his head from side to side which is the international gesture for "no". I suspect that deep down you're really a conservative and that you're subconsciously sending a message to those who read your posts that they contain nothing but a bunch of baloney.
Take off your tin foil hat, scratch your head, and think about THAT!
Birdies comments are indicative of an active or recovering substance abuser; unable to put together a comprehensive sentence or paragraph. A sign of an extremely short attention span and lacking the ability to mentally process a series of events or issues.
Of course, this says nothing of the contents.
Vietnam War commie-siders! Draftdodging is a felony offense. Felons like Rush, Imus, Dobbs (birther), O'Reilly, cal Thomas, Kristol, etc., should all be banned from the airwaves. I've my fill of these GOP Tokyo Roses.
If there is any truth to what Limbaugh says it is purely accidental. He hates all Democrats and blindly loves all far right wingers. Most of the country is close to the middle, left or right. If you can honestly say you hate all Republicans then you are misguided, (birdiedreamin), and Democrats haters are the same. I disagree with just about everything Obama stands for, I think he is a socialist, and that system has never worked in a free society. With government gifts come government control. Too much government control begets revolution. However I think Mr Obama regards himself as a patriot and he will enjoy his retirement commencing in 39 months. Thank you for your attention birdie.
what's the matter fellas???
truth hurts???
by the way...
whose turn is it to bring the popcorn to today's celebration of ugliness???
birdie I will...
bring the popcorn...
to...
today's celebration...
of ugliness...
how about Jiffy Pop...
you can have a new...
tin foil hat...
when it's done...
For those of you who wish to know what propaganda is just Google: the big lie, Nazi propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, and Go To: www.oldamericancentury.org/14pts.html. Socrates said "Know thyself", and in order to do so one must acquire knowledge to make an informed decision or to express a worthwhile opinion. Think--it's free!
i love jiffy pop!!!
Birdie,
You will have to eat your Jiffy Pop outside. The short bus will be picking you up any minute now.
Hey Birdie-Moron. You forgot a line: Who would want to join the retarded Republican party, the party of losers. (Or words to that effect.) If indeed there is a party of losers, why in the world wouldn't you join it?
"Limbaugh and Obama will not lead you out of this mess -- only you will, by reading between the lines and picking the best people for the job, not the party."
We are close to that moment if not already there. Two things I heard listening to analysis of last nights elections that give me hope were that Independents now out number Democrats or Republicans. Next was Independents broke two to one against the parties in power.
Die hard partisans refuse to see the warts on their elected officials. Bush supporters turned a blind eye to his mistakes and Obama supporters are doing the same. I have got to believe that this is a wake up call, that promises made on the campaign damn well better be kept.
The day that WALL STREET is thrown out of WASHINGTON,DC is the day that (WE THE PEOPLE) We The American people can have are country back.
Well Dave, who is left? The Libertarians who live in fantasy land?
Your point is basically that elected officials are corrupt regardless of party affiliation. No argument here.
We have been voting for the lesser of two evils since the second presidential election and the less evil John Adams won.
Rush Limbaugh on the other hand is a drug addicted fat man, who is a greedy evil slime ball that would flush democracy down the toilet to make an extra buck to pay for all the hill-billy heroin and food he consumes. He has that in common with Rupert Murdoch, except for the drug and food addictions.
Welcome to American Democracy.
Ah... All the love from the Left. Just kinda makes me want to shed a tear...
OK, who poked the AngryReader with a stick? We are not supposed to mention Rush Limbaugh name. It brings out the best in people.
The day the book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot" came out continues to be a day I recall fondly.
Hey gmag, You have got to be kidding me... Al Franken?? Did you actually buy and read it?
Personally, I don't care enough for either one of those two to read any book by them or about them.
Rush Limbaugh is a vile racist, a drug-addled pill-popper, and a corpulent, obviously uneducated gasbag who makes millions of dollars pandering to the insecurities and paranoia of the so-called "Tea-bag Nation" and their ilk, many of whom populate these letters to the editor response columns daily with their own brand of illiteracy. His mother should have strangled him at birth. He and that dip-s**t Glenn Beck are two of the extreme right-wing's brightest stars. What absolute waste of humanity.
Don't hold back there bigdon. Tell us exactly how you feel...
Glad to see you could join us today...
I would personally like to thank Rush Limbaugh for the gift of another Democrat in Congress.
We couldn't have done it without you, Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. The republican Brain Trust (wait, that's a contradiction-in-terms) continues to strike fear in the heart of Nancy Pelosi by getting more Democrats elected to the House.
Brilliant move, Limbaugh. The Democrats cower!
No, Larry, I did not buy or read it. I already knew the story! It just made my day to hear that someone had a #1 New York Times Bestseller with the title Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot.
Franken, I believe, also won a Grammy award for spoken word for the audio version. Fathom that.
Al is Senator now in my "home state" of Minny.
Had I still lived there, I would have been torn about owing him my vote for the book, but I would have voted for Norm Coleman. If you think Nevada has weird politicians, well, historically,
we goofy Scandahoovian's have elected some real characters in Minnesota politics, Jessie Ventura amongst them but not nearly the goofiest.
I believe that the book you are referring to made it to #3 on the New York Times Bestseller list.
But no matter, the book made Al a bundle of money and that's what it is all about.
I don't care how goofy a politician is as long as they make a sincere effort the represent his district or state...
Like Bill clinton with Lewinsky. Psh, give the man some chance to live his life! hahahaha. Yes, God can also forgive him like John Ensign.
There's no "Political truth" in Limbaugh. There's commentary which anyone with an IQ below 110 can do based on emotions and misunderstanding of government.
Although I have to admit that Limbaugh, Beck, and these guys, without an education, have managed to make a lot of money, now that's pretty respectable regardless of what they have to say.
Just ignore it. We know he's a divisive son of a **** and a racist (that's actually a fact) but it's his opinion, let him be. Remember Hitler said if you say a lie many times it will be a truth later on, well a truth in the point of view of the supporters.
Lets face it. Both sides aren't helping to be united. Then we can talk about patriotism/nationalism and how it's actually a two edged sword. But that's another topic. Heheheh.
I thought Ventura was kind of a "fresh air" governor but he did not last long. He needed to owe more of his soul to the special interest groups to be effective or at leas kiss the but of the two "real" parties (Rep & Dem).
I did enjoy his "chicken hawk" lists and comments.
LarryVegas:
Al Franken is 1000 times smarter than Rush and
also has a college education. We need more
progressives like him in the Senate and Congress.
good letter; everyone should realize that personal responsibility is important. take care of you and your family the best way possible and dont rely on somebody else to fix your problems. if you buy something you cant afford like a house or car, dont expect me to pay for it.
Hey Teamster:
You write...
"Al Franken is 1000 times smarter than Rush and also has a college education."
... 1000 times? That's a pretty smart fellow then.
"We need more progressives like him in the Senate and Congress."
... You made need and want more like Al Franken, but I bet your not going to get any more.
LarryVegas said:
"... You made need and want more like Al Franken, but I bet your not going to get any more."
Hmmmmmm.....I just have to ask...is that you just wishing and dreaming, or do you have something concrete to base your statement on?
Wolfy, I sent a letter to Santa and he replied that he was all out of "Al Franken" types...
LarryVegas......
So in other words, you were just wishing and dreaming......No surprise there!
These comments need to be psychoanalyzed...seriously
I think there is a song in there somewhere there Wolfy...
They can psychoanalyze our comments and they can psychoanalyze our minds but they will never get us figured out, or in for that matter...
Rush is a product of Americana...you can hate him/love him/not give a flip about him. However, he has the same rights and freedoms as everyone else - he just was smart enough to turn it into a profit. So I guess whine at his success.
Listen up Dave, fat Limbaugh the dopehead isn't real good at telling the truth.
I thought this was supposed to be a friendly exchange - gosh lots of these entries make it seem like this is the real world! Hmmmm - come on down when you are ready to walk on the ground with us mortals who do not have final answers!
Boy, Rush Limbaugh is a drug addicate pill popper. That's the comments from the "all smokers are devils" commenters that take their hatred out for smokers on this page. How about Obama "The Smoker"? It's ok if you say it is in his case? Any of you ever had pain that had to be helped by pills and then found it difficult to stop using them? Of course not.
Notice how guys like thebaboon love to call names those who have a different political view then their own. They just can't stand to even hear the name of somebody who has made in on their own unless it is one of their ilk.
Just another example of compassion from the far left.
