Letter to the editor:
Nevada needs to follow Texas — the sooner the better
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 | 2:01 a.m.
I read the Las Vegas Sun’s Monday editorial (“Vision of the future? Texas community bets on a progressive way to jump-start local economy — and wins”) about Texas and its 100,000-acre wind farm and 627 turbines.
That’s great for them and the 20 percent of the people employed in Nolan County at about $50,000 a year in pay. If Texas is doing this, what’s stopping Nevada?
We have all that is necessary — the sun, the wind and lots of open spaces. Energy-source diversity is our only salvation and tomorrow is too late. The sooner we start the sooner we will get out of this mess.
As for me, you can put one of those turbines in my back yard for starters. I’ve got plenty of wind. Install it today — I’m home.

Yes, you should go out and buy a windmill kit and put in your backyard.
Put your money where your mouth is.
problem is we have a governor with absolutely no leadership skills...
whose only solution to every problem is cut taxes...
what a sad little gibbons monkey he is!!!
And to think of it, it is the German giant Eon that is responsible for the contract, why was there no American company in for the job, or were they too expensive??
Since the moment I moved here I wondered why there wasn't more solar and wind power. (Not to mention, why aren't there more swamp coolers?) Small minds, poor education, lack of leadership, political corruption, and a city that doesn't attract enough of the intelligent, creative type -
Texas put the government check book online. That is something we should do. Wind farms are just an expensive fad at the moment so we probably shouldn't jump head first into them.
Hey teacher: If you think about it' It kind of like reminds you of the Presidents hometown of Chicago.
teacher is teaching tolerance today, so pay attention to his wisdom as he rants: "Small minds, poor education, lack of leadership, political corruption, and a city that doesn't attract enough of the intelligent, creative type."
Vegas attracted the teacher, so what does it say about him.
And to think, the teacher used to shape our children minds...
Small minds, poor education, lack of leadership, political corruption, a city that doesn't attract enough of the intelligent, creative type? I didn't know that the Democrats had taken over Las Vegas that badly.
I frequently go to the shows in Las Vegas and I see some of the world's most talented and creative people putting on those shows. I see Cirque Du Soleil sold out almost every night. I see Wayne Newton, I see Celine Dion, I see Beth Midler, I see Elton John, I see the most talented entertainers there are performing here.
I go to some of the restaurants in Las Vegas and I enjoy world class food by Charlie Palmer, Wolfgang Puck, Hubert Keller, Michael Mina. True geniuses in the cullinary world. What else could Teacher want. Maybe to see massiah (Obama) walk on water, turn wine into vinegar, or what? Maybe he should get out of the peep shows at the porno shop and quit eating at McDonald's and find out what this great city has to offer. Maybe he would like to see Dina Titus on stage doing the hoochie koo or Harry Reid doing an impersonation of a human. That would be funny. I know it takes money which I'm sure he doesn't have but he could get a job. I see more creativity here than almost any city in the country. It is the entertainment capitol of the world and deservidly so.

Teamster, shame on you for pointing out that there's such a thing as scientific creativity.....that type of thing just confuses those who sleep over on the right!
