Letter to the editor:
First focus should be on helping our own countrymen
Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 | 2 a.m.
I’m sick and tired of elected officials telling us how much better everything is. When, where and for whom is this all better?
They need to open their eyes, look at the despair, helplessness, anger and hopelessness on our American faces — no jobs, no benefits, families living in the streets, thousands of American children going hungry.
We need to help our own citizens, and we need to do it now. We have to cut all foreign aid immediately and use our taxpayer money to help our own people.
We can’t help the world when our citizens are suffering so much. There is too much talk, very little action. Get it done.

What are you? A socialist? Get a job and stop asking the government to help you out. Or if you have to feed your family and can't get a job? Do what the big boys do. Borrow a whole bunch of money and declare bankruptcy. Oops, sorry, won't work. Bush and the Republican congress changed the rules a few years ago. Now, you can only get away with that if you are a corporation. It's socialism for capitalists. It's a pretty wonderful deal. You probably read about the recent CIT Group going under and screwing us all out of the billions we just lent them. You see, a corporation is a person, but a person isn't a corporation. Sorry about that.
Art, you are absolutely correct. The Fed keeps printing money yet we (Washington) continues to sent billions to countries who would just as soon see the U.S. collapse as not. Then there are the billions of dollars ear marked for special interest groups like community organizers. Does Acorn ring a bell? Supposedly both the House and Senate want to stop funding Acorn after the recent debacle but you can rest assured Obama and his administration will see that they get the funds.
The current administration needs to tell us that things are getting much better. Obama is priming us for Stimulus II.
Why is it that single most important item for economic recovery is almost completely off the radar: bring jobs BACK to America!
Oops, Obama has already spoken on this and said we don't want the jobs that have gone overseas.
I want to know how we can continue to import more than we export and expect to be able to pay for anything.
Why bring Jobs back to the USA? Obama wants to put every American on the dole and none of us will ever have to work again. What a paradise this will be.
