Crash location

A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in the eastern Las Vegas Valley about 6:30 p.m. Monday night.

Metro Police are still investigating the crash at Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

Police said the 27-year-old motorcyclist was northbound on Nellis when an ambulance entered the intersection on Stewart with lights and sirens on. Witnesses and evidence at the scene indicated the motorcyclist, rather than yielding, sped up and struck the side of a Toyota Camry making a left turn.

The identity of the motorcyclist is not being released. The Clark County Coroner's Office will identify him.

This collision is the 77th deadly traffic accident in Metro Police jurisdiction this year.

  1. Brakes or the gas....that's a life deciding decision when on a bike. Not sure what else to really say.

Second chances come prety rare on bikes.

  2. Lesson learned, YIELD to emergency vehicles, oncoming trains, and stop lights changing to red. Dont be an idiot and speed up trying to beat them.
