A man who died after his sport utility vehicle rolled over into a Southern Nevada river has been identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
The man is 23-year-old Michael Shakespear of Overton, a spokeswoman with the coroner's office said.
The man was driving his SUV near State Route 169 at Logandale, about 35 miles northeast of Las Vegas, when his vehicle left the road and rolled into the Muddy River Wednesday morning, said Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Kevin Honea.
The crash happened just north of State Route 169 near the small ranching town. The sport utility vehicle driver apparently lost control and rolled into the river, authorities said.
Shakespear was airlifted to University Medical Center's trauma unit, Honea said. He arrived at the hospital in critical condition.
Metro Police, the Nevada Highway Patrol and volunteers rushed to the river to rescue the man after the rollover. Once the driver was freed from the SUV, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed.
