The Sand Dollar Lounge, 3355 Spring Mountain Road, will feature a CD release party for Los Angeles-based blues/rock guitarist Andy Walo this weekend.
The party for “FLAMETHROWER” begins at 9 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10. For more information call 871-6651 or go to www.sanddollarblues.com.
Walo, a frequent performer in Vegas, recently was nominated in Best Blues Group or Artist and Best Guitarist categories for the just-completed 5th Annual South Bay Music Awards.
He says about the CD's title track: “It's about a total geek guy gear head who’s obsessed with WWII-era flamethrowers and spends most of his spare time shooting, repairing and cleaning them. He also uses his flamethrowers in occasional paintball tournaments!”
Other cuts on the CD include:
- “Hard Hearted Woman”
- “Too Long In The City”
- “With The Band”
- “Who’s That Knocking”
- “Baby Please Don’t Go”
The Andy Walo Trio is Walo (guitars/vocals/bass); Roger Bueno (bass); and Rena’ Beevers (drums).
