Letter to the Editor:
Better these crises had gone to waste
Monday, May 18, 2009 | 2:02 a.m.
“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste” is a quote from Rahm Emanuel, Chicago political philosopher, who now is the architect and political hit man for President Barack Obama.
We’ve had the economic crisis, banking crisis, housing crisis and auto crisis, and I’m scared to death that with the Mexican drug wars, swine flu crisis and the resultant economic crisis that the Obama machine will, through illegal immigration policy, try to put a Canada-Mexico-America merger through.
We have strayed from capitalism and are flirting with a bastardization of capitalism and socialism, and no one — liberal, conservative, Republican, Democrat or independent — knows where it will lead. My guess is hyperinflation and a lower standard of living in which class warfare will lead to fewer productive, innovative, hard-working citizens and instead more citizens waiting for a check.
How sad. Do you know that our revolution was won because the richest and most educated citizens sacrificed their lives and fortunes for the common man? They financed the revolution, and some paid with their lives.

Okay Frank Perna, maybe it is a good idea to have the rich risk more. Some of them are paying, not with their lives but, with prison time. All must give a little and where more was received more is expected. Lets stop the name calling. Socialist, Liberal, Rich, Poor, Republican, etc. We're all in this together, if we all(most of us) paddle in the same direction we will all be okay Frank Perna. Love, Bingowaba

If you're scared kill your TV.
Canada-Mexico-America merger?
Does this have anything to do with that 'North American Union / Amero' wingnuttery?
Tin-foil hat, anyone?
fear, loathing, outrageous claims....I thought the bush years were over???
Frank, get a grip! Fear is your enemy. You've been brainwashed! bushwhacked! cheneywhacked! limbaughlooned!
Maybe there should be a support group for people not able to function without the fear that was used to control them?
Is there a doctor (shrink) in the house??
