Metro Police are advising the public that road closures and delays are possible this morning because of funeral services for fallen Officer James L. Manor.
Manor, 28, died May 7 after colliding with a pickup truck on West Flamingo Road at Ravenwood Drive as he responded to a domestic violence call.
Motorists should expect delays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. today on Westcliff Drive from Rainbow Boulevard to Durango Drive. Police suggest drivers consider an alternate route during those hours.
The funeral procession and grave site ceremony could cause delays on the 215 Beltway north from Summerlin Parkway to Jones Boulevard. Jones Boulevard will be shut down to north and southbound traffic from Deer Springs Drive to 215 and vehicles will be re-routed around the area, police said. The detour is expected to be in effect from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
A Metro Police motorcade with family members will escort the officer's body to Palm Mortuary and Cemetery at 6701 N. Jones Boulevard.
A public parking lot for the 11 a.m. funeral service at the International Church of Las Vegas, 8100 Westcliff Drive, has been established at the Angel Park parking lot, at the intersection of Westcliff and Durango, police said.
Shuttle buses will be available at the parking lot to take residents to and from the church.
