Finally, after more than three months, the tax discussion begins this week in Carson City. They have not said a word about it yet in those private meetings. No siree. No spreadsheets of various possibilities have been passed around for months. No discussion started in January about using the payroll tax and the sales tax. There hasn’t been any talk at all of using local government tax money to make up for the state’s deficit. And no one has whispered about going after mining or trucking. These discussions will begin this week, all of these brand-new ideas will be talked about and they will be thoroughly vetted in committee hearings in a deliberative process that will produce a well-thought-out plan. Really. It’s true. Just ask them.

"These discussions will begin this week"
It so nice that the Nevada taxpaying public will not have a voice in this last week of "private meetings"
Democrats still after 3 months and with 2 weeks to go will not release their tax and spend plan.
Tax discussions in Carson City will resemble a discussion I had with a lady in a Cat House near Round Mountain.
Anything is possible with the right amount of money in hand. And since most of the citizens in this state are broke the only folks receiving service will be the gaming, gov`t, and mining folks.
I am sure they will leave the Cat House,(Carson
City) with a smile on their face. The rest of us will just have to figure it out.

Nothing like slapping another band-aid on a sucking chest wound.
Once again Future, every Session runs this way. Your boy Gibbons still has no chance. Perhaps a copy of Politics for Dummies is available at your local Barnes and Noble. Nevada's worst Governor is the memory your boss will have.
Maybe the current politicians should write a book entitled "Government by Dummies"
Howabout we do this:
All the individual Republicans can opt out of ALL the services generated by the State: Police, Fire, Education, Emergency Heathcare and we just tax the Democrats and Corporations.
The Republican all get a RED CARD and a RED BUMPER sticker they must put on their cars and homes so we can identify them. When 'stuff' happens they need to show their cards and since they paid nothing to warrant their recieving any help, they get none.
Let them eat their fascist handbook 'Mein Kampf.'
I would prefer to real food, have a steady income and such. But, it takes all kinds.
Maybe if the Gibbonites all moved to Darfur or Somalia where they are experimenting with their ideology in real time, we all might be better off.
Masterm,
Did you know that Nazis advocated self-sufficiency, government ownership of heavy industry, government central direction over the economy, old age pensions, welfare benefits, the minimum wages, animal rights, paganism, and vegetarianism.
Free-market libertarians do not advocate a big central government, heavy taxes, centralized economy, or self-sufficiency. They believe in limited government (if any), free trade, free markets, and right to work labor.
Your economic and historic ignorance is astounding. Drop the political rhetoric and talking points and engage in some real debate.
