Vehicle-bicycle crash

Metro Police are asking for the public's help in finding a driver who struck a bicyclist Friday evening near Cashman Field, then left the scene.

Investigators responded at 7:31 p.m. to an area south of Las Vegas Boulevard and Washington Avenue after reports that a northbound bicyclist traveling near the curb in the right southbound lane of Las Vegas Boulevard was struck. Police said a southbound truck collided with the bicyclist, then the driver stopped briefly before leaving the scene southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard.

The rider of the BMX Mongoose bike, identified as Pat Foreman, 18, of Las Vegas, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, police said.

The truck was described as a white, newer model Chevrolet pickup with possible damage to its right-front side. No other description was available early Saturday about the truck or its driver.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Detective Dennis Magill at 828-3317.
